This will be my last blog prior to the impending trial.

Since it is difficult to predict what may occur, I would again like to take this opportunity of thanking all of those wonderful people who have supported Hollie, Anne and me throughout this campaign and to those who have attended my many court hearings. To those of you who may be able to come along on Friday, I shall be most grateful and pleased to see you.

My fate is not in the hands of a jury, but of one man, Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen.

Since the trial, it has been discovered that this individual lacked the professional and personal integrity to divulge his relationship, for over ten years, on the board of an organisation with a fellow member who had been cited as a witness for the defence. This relationship on the board lasted until May last year, when Bowen and the cited witness left within 24 hours of each other. Thus, it is reasonable to believe that the two were at least, fairly well acquainted.

Moreover, on Bowen`s intercession, the witness, Elish Angiolini, was prevented from having to attend court and provide answers on oath under cross-examination, hence displaying the prospect of disadvantaging the defence. Given that justice needs to be seen to be done, it would be difficult to argue against the view that Sheriff Bowen was not competent to adjudicate at the trial, owing to a reasonable supposition that a conflict of interest may well be seen to exist.

A formal complaint has been lodged with the appropriate authorities, which has been formally acknowledged today and Bowen will be challenged in court in connection with his failure to disclose. One would hope that under Scottish Law, the requirement to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth in court extends to members of the judiciary.

Bowen`s conduct so far has been instrumental in my having a criminal record inflicted upon me and the prospect of a prison sentence, quite apart from the way my human rights have been persistently breached from the time of my initial arrest.

It may be a good time to note, in comparison, a few examples of how actual sex offenders in Scotland are treated.

This week it was announced that Liam Gibson, described as one of Scotland`s most notorious purveyors of child pornography, was spared a jail sentence despite Lothian & Borders Police discovering 50,000 images of child pornography at his home.

In 2009, Douglas Haggarty QC, a senior member of the Legal Aid Board with the responsibility and influence in deciding if I should be granted legal aid, was found to have committed a sexual act with a 17-year-old male prostitute in the public toilet of British Home Stores, St Enoch Centre, Glasgow on a Saturday afternoon at a time when the store was full of families out shopping. Mr Haggarty was not only spared prison, but was allowed to retain his lucrative job in a position of public trust.

In 2001, when Elish Angiolini was busy covering up over Hollie`s allegations, in an unrelated case, a 22-year-old man who admitted to raping a 10-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy was allowed to walk free. This was reported in The Times and The Telegraph in May of that year. Angiolini was subsequently forced into a public apology for her incompetence. This monumental blunder did not prevent her climbing to the highest office in the justice system.

Then, of course, we can mention the repeated Grampian Police and Crown Office failings over the Hollie Greig case. At the outset, Hollie`s father should have been arrested and had his computer seized, as Dr Frances Kelly`s medical examination, accepted by Grampian Police, supported Hollie`s allegations within three weeks of Hollie first making them in May 2000.

All this may be of some interest when my sentence is announced. In this Kafkaesque country, where right is wrong and wrong is right , the indications are that anyone who exposes police failures and tries to protect children from being raped is likely to be much more seriously dealt with than the actual perpetrators.

The eminent Ian Hamilton QC described the way that Scotland is currently being governed as being akin to fascism. It is an opinion that is not easy to disagree with.

Scotland is a fine country with some of the most decent and humane people you are likely to find anywhere on Earth. It is so sad that its governance has fallen into the hands of a cabal whose members have characters that are diametrically at odds with the best traditions of those of the overwhelming majority of Scottish people.

Angiolini and Levy & McRae

Central Police has now confirmed that the investigation related to an alleged misappropriation of public funds involving Elish Angiolini and Peter Watson, of Levy & McRae, has been passed to the CID.

With regard to Angiolini`s ten-year boardroom connection with Sheriff Principal Bowen, it has proved difficult to ascertain exactly who was responsible for allocating my case to him. I have been informed that the application for a sheriff to adjudicate was passed to Sir Stephen Young, Sheriff Principal for Grampian, Highland and Islands.

Sir Stephen is also a commissioner for the Northern Lighthouse Board.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to offer their best wishes and prayers for me next Friday at Stonehaven. I would also like to extend my appreciation to those who may be able to make the journey there to witness and support me.

Of course, what may happen to me is not really of major consequence. What is important is to bring to justice those who committed such appalling crimes against Hollie and other children, which in itself will help to prevent further unspeakable sufferings at the hands of those perpetrators still at large.

Is there a senior political figure in Scotland with sufficient courage and compassion to stand up and demand an inquiry?

Angiolini and Bowen - Update

At present, official responses are being awaited about Sheriff Principal Bowen`s failure to disclose details of his long-term boardroom acquaintance with Elish Angiolini and about the complaint made about the latter over the alleged theft of public funds.

In the case of the former, the Scottish Law Reporter provided an excellent updated report on 7th February and there has been a very good article about the trial, prior to the uncovering of Bowen`s concealment, in the UK Column on 25th January, stating its opinion that Scotland is now, unsurprisingly, Europe`s paedophile capital. It certainly seems to be the only country that I am aware of where the powers-that-be tacitly support the rape of its own children and the disabled.

Other helpful pieces and films have also appeared in the public domain.

With regard to Angiolini`s refusal to cooperate with the Queen`s appointed officer over the payments to Levy & McRae, Sergeant Hogg, of Central Police, has informed me today that it has now been passed to Lothian & Borders, as the alleged crime was believed to have been committed in that area.

This matter should not take long to resolve. All Angiolini has to do to establish her innocence is to provide proof that she paid the law firm out of her personal funds, although this was something she felt unable to do when questioned on this very issue by the Freedom of Information Commissioner over a six-month period.

Finally, whilst I am a great advocate of free speech and freedom of expression, I have noticed that the comments section is sometimes being used as a vehicle for expressing forceful views about persons and issues not directly connected to the subject of the blog. Therefore, I would appreciate it if those concerned would be courteous enough to restrict their views by relating them to the content of the blogs on this site.

Bowen and Angiolini - Ten Years Together

We have received detailed and prompt information from the Northern Lighthouse Board, which is to its great credit.

Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen and Elish Angiolini DBE were together on the board for ten years, leaving it within 24 hours of each other in 2011.

A more blatant conflict of interest on Bowen`s part could scarcely be imagined, yet the sheriff declared nothing about his acquaintance with a key cited witness for the defence.

This is yet another example of the degree of the corruption that lies at the heart of the Scottish justice system. Due to the nature of the charge, a summary offence, any sheriff in Scotland would have been qualified to adjudicate on my case.

Why then was Bowen, of all people, chosen, and who selected him for the task?

Who Named the Dame of Shame?

Fred Goodwin has, of course, just been stripped of his knighthood.

David Ruffley MP has now suggested that if people regard anyone else as being unworthy of such an honour, they should approach the Forfeiture Committee with their views.

Mr Ruffley, it may be recalled, was the first MP to have the courage to speak out about the appalling way in which the Scottish justice system had dealt with the Hollie Greig case. He is not a Scottish MP, but represents Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, so his concerns about justice and the protection of Scottish children are all the more commendable.

In my view, the recent honouring of Elish Angiolini was in some ways far more troubling than that of Fred Goodwin and I shall explain why. This has nothing to do with anyone`s opinions on the Hollie Greig case or mine, for that matter.

At the very time that Her Majesty The Queen was bestowing the honour on Elish Angiolini, the latter was persistently refusing to comply with a question relating to her financial probity from the Queen`s own senior appointee, Mr Kevin Dunion, the Freedom of Information Commissioner for Scotland.

How was it possible for such an individual who could be facing serious criminal charges by ignoring a senior official representing the Queen, to be simultaneously made a DBE by Her Majesty?

As many of you will have seen, the official response to the question of who exactly nominated Angiolini for this award has met with the reply that it is not in the public interest for the identity(ies)to be divulged.

I think it is.

Of course, I could not possibly assume what the Queen might think, but it is hard, I propose, to imagine that Her Majesty would have acted as she did had the full facts about the recipient been made known to her. At least, in the case of Fred Goodwin, his subsequently bad conduct was not known at the time that he was nominated and honoured,as far as I am aware.

I intend to contact the Forfeiture Committee accordingly.

Sheriff Principal Bowen and Elish Angiolini - Conflict of Interest?

Followers of my trial will know that Sheriff Principal Bowen decided to support Crown objections to deprive me of two key cited defence witnesses, Stephen McGowan and Elish Angiolini.

It has now been discovered that Bowen and Angiolini are co-directors of the Northern Lighthouse Board and have been present together at three meetings since I was arrested, 22 February 2010, 01 June 2010 and 28 February 2011.

Therefore, at the very least, they can be said to be acquainted.

Sheriff Principal Bowen has made no effort to disclose his personal connection with Angiolini. I believe that, at the very latest, he should have recused himself when Angiolini was formally cited by the defence. Justice must, of course, be seen to be done and there can be no doubt that Bowen`s impartiality is thus a matter for serious questioning, as his actions spared his personal acquaintance,the former Lord Advocate, from being cross-examined on oath, to my disadvantage.

Angiolini is perhaps the most central figure in the case against me, as it was largely her failings and worse, that led me to take the actions for which I was subsequently charged, on her personal authority.

It is also hoped to obtain the audio of the trial, which I recall will contain a rather mumbled and incoherent response by Bowen when I challenged him on the subject of Angiolini`s conduct on the last day of the hearing.

This revelation is but the latest in a transparently biased series against me by the Scottish justice system, if that is not a contradiction in terms.

I have reason to believe that I have suffered as a result of a mistrial due to an undeclared conflict of interest on the part of Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen.

Whilst there remains a good deal of focus on the injustices meted out to me, what is really at stake here is the establishment`s craven failure to protect Scottish children and the disabled from systematic rape and torture.

More on "Dame" Elish Angiolini

Today and Saturday, the Scottish Law Reporter has put up two new articles about my trial and the curious award to Elish Angiolini.

Of course, her name was put forward to be honoured by the Queen, despite it having been established that she had made false statements over Hollie`s case and even more importantly, that she had refused to respond to the FOI Commisioner`s requests over a financial matter of public interest, which may well lead to her facing a criminal prosecution.

So, in the circumstances, who would want to nominate an individual of such dubious repute?

We still don`t know, as the official document featured in today`s SLR article shows.

There is, of course, no reason at all for the details of this matter and those related to it being published in the mainstream media. I am only too well aware of the pressures being placed on editors by those in positions of considerable power and influence in Scotland, as was displayed earlier by Angiolini`s personal threats, but much of the information is already in the public domain. Such established names as The Firm, The Drum, The Scottish Law Reporter, The Scottish Sunday Express and the former Scottish News of the World have all published accounts of matters directly or indirectly connected to the Hollie Greig case.

Finally, thank you all for your continuous messages of support since my conviction. It is important to be aware that anything that happens to me will be of little account when compared to what has happened to Hollie Greig. Her account on 8th September 2009 to Grampian Police`s DC Lisa Evans is something I shall never forget, so clear and harrowing were the details,as was Hollie`s astonishing bravery.

As uncovered during the trial, that no action was ever taken by DC Evans and Grampian Police is a matter of disgrace and shame for all those whose chief objective and priority is to protect prominent and powerfully connected child-abusers at all costs.

Angiolini

A local police officer called at my home this afternoon, on behalf of Sergeant Hogg of Central Police, Scotland, to provide me with a crime reference number in connection with my formal complaint about the alleged misappropriation of public funds by Elish Angiolini, in order to pay Levy & McRae for legal actions on her behalf in a private capacity.

Such an alleged crime should not be difficult to solve. All Dame Elish needs to do is to provide proof that the fees in question were paid by her personally. However, it would seem that she has so far been finding this simple query difficult to address. It is now two years since the question was first put to her and for a six-month period, the Freedom of Information Commissioner, Mr Kevin Dunion, asked her to respond. She has yet failed to do so.

Levy & McRae ought also to be able to help clear this issue up. The firm must know who it invoiced and who paid the bill. There can be no lawful reason for the Scottish taxpayer to have paid this.

Central Police say that everyone in Scotland is treated equally under the law. If Dame Elish remains unable to exonerate herself, there can be no reason why she should not be arrested and charged, as anyone unfortunate enough to have less influential allies would be in similar circumstances.

I would like to take this opportunity to bring everyone up-to-date regarding recent events but would first like to thank again all of you who have offered their support and expressed their objection to Sheriff Principal Bowen`s personal decision to convict me on a Breach of the Peace charge.

Especially I cannot really find appropiate words to express my thanks to those of you who came to the court, day after day, to witness what I believe to be another unacceptable incidence of bias against me by the Scottish justice system. Those of you in Scotland who have so gallantly stood by me represent the true face of Scotland - brave, loyal, fair-minded and thoroughly decent and compassionate.

I have no doubt that my prospects of a successful defence were impaired unacceptably by the Sheriff`s decision to deny me the testimonies under oath of two key defence witness who had both been formally cited, Procurator Fiscal Stephen McGowan and former Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini.

As events progressed, it became clear that the integrity of the trial was compromised by the fact that McGowan, leading for the prosecution, was himself being protected from having to answer pertinent questions about his own conduct and influence.

In the case of Angiolini, in many ways the central figure whose failings led directly to my being charged, she would have had to face some telling questions on oath had our citatation not been blocked by Bowen`s intervention. Under Scottish law, it would not have been necessary for her to answer questions that may incriminate herself, but it would surely have been in the interests not only of the defence, but for Scotland in general as to how she would respond to the matter of who paid Levy &McRae for her private legal actions, a question she has persistently failed to answer to a formal request from a senior public official, the Freedom of Information Commissioner, Mr Kevin Dunion.

As we were denied Angiolini`s opportunity to speak on this specific topic, amongst others, I formally made a complaint yesterday at the police station in Dunblane, where she resides, having been invited to take this course of action by a letter from Lothian and Borders Police. The constant evasions by Angiolini in responding to a perfectly simple official question would strongly indicate, in my view, that a serious criminal offence has taken place, which I have been given to understand should be termed the misappropriation of public funds.

Regardless of opinions on the Hollie Greig case or on mine, surely no one can reasonably take a view other than that the former Lord Advocate has conducted herself in an unacceptable manner leading to the gravest suspicion of her culpability over the likely criminal misuse of public funds.

One of the most important facts to emerge from the trial was that following Hollie`s lengthy interview with PC Lisa Evans on the 8th September 2009, which I witnessed, not one of the named alleged perpetrators, not one of the alleged victims, nor any of the expert medical witnesses whose reports completely supported Hollie`s allegations were ever questioned by Grampian Police. Of course, contrary to police procedures in such cases involving the sexual abuse of children were the computers of the alleged perpetrators seized or examined. One of the main reasons for this is that whilst rape is inevitably a complex issue as far as proof is concerned, the downloading of child pornography is not. It is a known fact that abusers generally avail themselves to this type of crime and given the sheer number of those named by Hollie, there can surely be no rational explanation for Grampian Police`s failures.

As we have said so often, Hollie`s competence and honesty has never been in any doubt, as admitted by Grampian Police themselves. The condition of Down`s Syndrome leads to those who have the condition to describe past events exactly as they have experienced them, without the facility to fabricate or embellish. Hollie Greig is therefore the best type of witness one could have in acase such as this, unlike any of her alleged attackers.

Thanks to extra information alluded to or gleaned during the trial, particularly from witness Rosemary Murray, someone certainly not involved in the abuses, I have every reason to believe that two specific witnesses in particular, committed perjury during the course of the trial.

Naturally, I have always stressed that my chief objective in the campaign is to secure a proper public inquiry into the repeated failures and obstructions of the authorities in dealing adequately with all the allegations and other matters, including the death of Robert Greig.

Indeed, if any proper police investigation had taken place it would have exonerated those who professed to be innocent in court long ago.

I must attend Stonehaven Court on 17th February at 10.30 hours for sentencing.

I shall just end by repeating these facts.

Following Hollie`s indescribably brave conduct and precise allegations on 8th September 2009 to DC Lisa Evans relating to most horrendous crimes, the police took no action whatsoever.

In January 2010, when I circulated a letter highlighting the police`s failure in this matter and the potential danger to the public, Grampian Police interviewed no fewer than 61 witnesses within five weeks and I was thus arrested and charged.

The Stonehaven Trial So Far

An extended adjournment until Monday has allowed me to post this update on the trial`s progress.

To begin with, I must thank all those kind, loyal and courageous people who had come again to Stonehaven yet again to support me. They have come from other parts of Scotland and even England in their own time and at their own considerable expense. I am deeply moved by such support, which has been a source of great strength to me.

Perhaps a very pertinent and basic question that is arisen as to why I have been prosecuted at all for a Breach of the Peace, which is intended to protect the public in general, not a specific number of individuals who have been identified by letter of other means of communication. Virtually all of the civilian witnesses brought by the prosecution who claim to have been upset by me comprise some of those named as alleged abusers or victims by Hollie.

A perfectly adequate legal remedy exists for those concerned - defamation.

I have always invited anyone who regards my publication of the allegations to be unfair or inaccurate to challenge me.

No-one, either individually or collectively has chosen to take this logical civil route that would have the most appropriate one, at no cost to the people of Scotland. Instead, even prior to the trial, an estimated half a million pounds of taxpayers` money has been spent on prosecuting me on a simple summary charge. It is an issue of possible misuse of much-needed public funds that may justifiably be put to the Scottish establishment, including leading politicians.

The most interesting cross-examination so far has been that of DC Lisa Evans by defence counsel Andy Lamb QC. The prosecution in fact attempted to obstruct Mr Lamb from doing so in the manner he intended, which led to an unexpected adjournment on Wednesday.

DC Evans was the Grampian Police officer who interviewed Hollie on 8th September 2009, at which I was present. Hollie, displaying an astonishing degree of courage and composure, clearly related her rape ordeals during the formal questioning that lasted three and a half hours. It was the most harrowing discussion I have ever witnessed and left me with a lasting admiration for the fortitude under pressure of this extraordinary young woman.

Such was the power and sincerity of Hollie`s evidence, backed by the knowledge that the state had earlier accepted the overwhelming probability of the truth of Hollie`s allegations by paying her £13, 500 from the CICA, that I then believed that even Grampian Police could no longer ignore the necessity for a full investigation. An action of this type would naturally have led to all those named being interviewed, along with the seizure or examination of their computers of those that used them, a normal procedure where serious allegations of child-sex crimes exist.

During the cross-examination of the alleged abusers and victims, all stated that they had never been approached by the police following Hollie`s allegations.

In the circumstances, it may be of significance that DC Evans was among the four officers who raided my home whilst I was held in custody in Aberdeen. No inventory of the items removed was ever left with me, but among the missing items were two notebooks which I used to record details of Hollie`s interview with Evans. Neither of these important documents was returned to the defence by the Crown. Under pressure from my legal team, it is understood that one has now been "found", but there is still no sign of the other.

When cross-examined by Mr Lamb, Evans even attempted to mislead the court about the exact layout of the area where the interview took place.

Much was made by the prosecution of the items seized from my home that day, including a list of the alleged perpetrators that I had sent out that has been used against me. In his quiet but penetrative way, Mr Lamb asked DC Evans if any of the names that appeared on that list corresponded with any of the names provided to her by Hollie.

The officer admitted that there were.

Thus, there can be no rational explanation for the total lack of action in Grampian Police not contacting named individuals following the 8th September 2009 interview.

The alleged abusers all stated in court that they were entirely innocent. If this is true, then Grampian Police has failed them also, because if they had been questioned, had their computers checked and it had been found that no evidence existed to justify a prosecution, I could have no longer been in a position to realistically continue my subsequent actions in support of Hollie`s case and there would have been no grounds to prosecute me at all

Naturally, the matter of the true facts behind death of Robert David Greig is an issue that cannot possibly go away.Only a full and reliable investigation is acceptable.

As this will be my last blog before my trial begins, I would again like to thank all those people around the world who have offered such wonderful support to Hollie and Anne and to me in our many battles over the past three years.

I have always been a great admirer of Scotland and the Scottish people and this view has been in no way diminished by my recent experiences. In fact, I have been extremely impressed by the sheer scale of decency, kindness, unselfishness and courage displayed by so many Scots in our efforts to secure justice for Hollie and her uncle and all the other vulnerable children and disabled of the country.

Although so many senior figures in politics, the police, medical and justice systems have consistently displayed an alarming lack of courage in protecting Scottish children and the disabled from the terrible ordeals of rape and torture, the conduct of others has been exemplary.

Although none can be said to be part of the Hollie campaign as their roles are governed by impartiality, may I congratulate in particular the Scottish Law Reporter, The Drum and The Firm, whose editor, Steven Raeburn, exemplifies the highest standards and ethics of journalism. There are other publications, too, who have helped when it has been possible for them to do so.

Finally, I must pay tribute to Mr Kevin Dunion OBE, the retiring Freedom of Information for Scotland Commissioner. His departure constitutes a sad loss to all in Scotland who hold dear the principles of democracy, freedom, justice and openness. It is sad to say that in my experience, he is the only senior official in Scotland who has remained faithful to his duty to the public and I congratulate him for his steadfast integrity and courage.

I have no idea what lies ahead in the coming days, but I am greatly moved by your thoughts and prayers.

Let us hope that our efforts will go some way in preventing at least some of the Hollie Greigs of this world from facing such unspeakable horror and evil in the future.

Angiolini Cited!

It`s official, Elish Angiolini has been cited to appear for the defence!

The trial is going ahead on Monday and is expected to last for two weeks.

Thank you all for the wonderful support you have provided to Hollie and Anne and to me. It is very much appreciated and let us hope that it is not too long before these horrifying crimes are investigated fully. It has also been very moving that so many have told me that I am in their thoughts and prayers in regard to the oncoming event in Stonehaven.

All I have ever asked, apart from the removal from office of Angiolini, which has been achieved, is for a full, independent and public inquiry into why only two people named by Hollie were ever questioned, despite her competence, clarity and sincerity, why were no computers were examined, why supporting medical evidence was withheld and for a full investigation as to who was responsible for the murder of Robert David Greig, and a brutal murder it most surely was, which also involved the unlawful withholding of the revealing contents of the autopsy for twelve years to Anne Greig, his next-of-kin.

Had such an inquiry been pursued, I would have been content to keep quiet and let the lawful procedures take their course.

No one expects people to be condemned without a fair trial, should it come to that, but I have named those responsible,as the Daily Mail did over Stephen Lawrence`s killers, mainly because no adequate police investigation could have possibly taken place and by the very nature of their alleged crimes, those named were likely to constitute an ongoing threat to public safety.

It is a great shame that the good people of Scotland have been so cruelly let down by those in the Grampian Police and Crown Office, plus senior politicians, whose duty it is to protect its citizens, especially Hollie and the other children.

One hopes that a new start will begin in Scotland, where those in senior public office seem to be granted immunity from prosecution, due to their influence and connections, Elish Angiolini being an obvious candidate.

In the meantime, the trial must be dealt with. Interesting days lie ahead.

Trial on the 16th January

Although I haven`t spoken yet to my new legal team, the trial is still set to begin in Stonehaven at 10.00 hrs on Monday. If there is any unlikely last-minute change I shall let you know, as a number of kind and courageous supporters of Hollie have indicated that they wil come along, some from considerable distances.

I hope I didn`t give the impression of being a little down at the beginning of my last blog, because that definitely isn`t the case. All I wanted to convey was that the Scottish legal and political elite have a strong vested interest in shutting me up by putting me in jail. The constant violations of my human rights from the day I was first arrested is surely contrary to the terms of Article 6(1), which indicates that I have a right to a fair trial. In no way could it be said that I have been treated without bias by the Scottish justice system, if that is not a contradiction in terms.

I have every intention of carrying on blogging, but it might be a bit difficult for me, if I`m put in prison again.

Former Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini must be called as a defence witness and I believe that Sheriff Principal Bowen has already damaged my defence by refusing to allow Crown Prosecutor to be called . It is significant that in spite of our later differences, all my previous six legal advisors were convinced that McGowan should have been ordered to comply with his citation.

It has been established already, thanks to the letters of Brian Adam MSP of 27th October and 28th November 2000 and Angiolini`s own letter to Anne`s solicitor of 12th July 2001, that she publicly lied when she claimed to have no involvement in the case. It is also a matter of public record that she has failed to comply with the formal requests of the FOI Commissioner, over the last six months of her tenure, to divulge how Levy & McRae were paid for her private legal actions to silence the media over her involvement in the Hollie Greig case.

So, the head of the justice system, responsible ultimately for all Scottish prosecutions, blatantly contravenes the terms of the FOI (Scotland) Act 2002.

Quite transparently, she has misappropriated public funds for her personal use and potential private financial gain. Who would refuse to answer, when being branded as a thief , if one could prove that such an allegation was untrue?

The recipients of the funds, Levy & McRae must know , too, but Senior Partner Peter Watson steadfastly refuses to disclose the truth.

It is, of course, a scandal in itself that Alex Salmond, in the full knowledge that she is likely to face criminal charges, not only refused to sack her immediately, but has now awarded her a plum job in assisting him. All this for someone who is not SNP and a Unionist. A valid question - what hold has she got over him?

She is a key figure in my case as all the actions I took that led to the charges against me were largely atributable to her failures and dishonesty.

This a criminal matter and I intend to see that it is dealt with appropriately.

The last word about Elish Angiolini should perhaps come not from me .but from the eminent Professor Robert Black QC, who described her term of office as "a disastrous experiment."

The good professor was being rather kind to her, I think.

The Death of Robert David Greig

I am aware that the Scottish establishment would like nothing more than to remove me from public life and it should not be forgotten that Alex Salmond is personally implicated in the Hollie Greig case, having first lied about a letter sent from his office to Anne and then having the FOI Commissioner ruling that Salmond and his ministers had failed to comply with the regulations in Hollie`s case. It is signiicant that whilst brave English MPs like Andrew George and David Ruffley have tried to stand up for Scottish children, Salmond has remained silent. Perhaps he is more interested in protecting his cronies in the North East than Aberdeen children being raped and tortured.

Consequently, it is difficult to know how much longer I shall be able to post my blog, given the oncoming trial and its likely outcome. However, before I go, I must address in detail the circumstances surrounding what I believe to be the brutal murder of Hollie`s, Robert David Greig, just six days before the 18th birthday party he had arranged for his beloved little niece. The disgraceful and shameless cover up of his murder by the Scottish establishment is almost beyond belief.

Robert, or Roy as he was always known, was 53 when he died on the night of 17th November 1997 in a burning stationary parked car on a remote and little-used lane that runs parallel to the A90, north of Aberdeen. It was separated from the main road by high banking and a row of trees. The night was a particularly wild one with high wind and driving rain.

Roy had no known worries of any consequence at all, no mental problems and was looking forward to Hollie`s special birthday.

The emergency services were called by Sylvester Cadger, who claimed to have seen flames above the trees whilst driving along the A90. The height of the flames would indicate that the car was already an inferno, but Mr Cadger, who still had to drive some distance to reach the scene from the A90, only suffered minor burns when he claimed to attempt to pull Roy clear. The emergency services arrived at 21.59 and Roy was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. By 01.27 hrs on the 18th November, according to the records, it had already been decided that Roy had committed suicide.

This is very curious, to say the least, as very few people take their own lives by fire, it is just too painful. When a death occurs by fire, it is normally due to accident or foul play. In fact, I have a letter from Grampian Police stating that only one death has occurred in this way in the past ten years. Subsequent enquiries have discovered that the NHS have no record whatsoever of any authority requesting Roy`s medical details, essential in assessing the state of mind before suicide can be decided on.

No mention of suicide was made to his next-of-kin, Anne Greig, nor was she ever questioned about any concerns her brother had, and she was not allowed to see the body, which had been placed in a sealed coffin..

In order to solve this apparent mystery, Anne repeatedly asked for the following 12 years for a copy of the pathologist`s report, only to be rebuffed on every occasion. The death certificate had attributed the death to smoke inhalation.When the autopsy finally arrived, it stated that Roy`s sternum, one of the body`s strongest bones, had been broken.along with several ribs and damage to the skull, consistent with having been badly beaten. It has been said that under intense heat, bones can crack, but if this was the case, how could Mr Cadger possibly have tried to drag him from the car and only suffer minimal burns?

After receiving the autopsy at the end of 2009, I interviewed the pathologist, his response was evasive and unconvincing. He is one of those who has complained to the police about me.

In 2001, Hollie Greig told her mother that Roy had walked in on her being sexually abused by her father. In the ensuing altercation, threats were issued. Anne was able to deduce that the incident had taken place just prior to Roy`s hitherto mysterious death.

It had also come to light that Hollie`s father successfully claimed £51,000 from the Scottish Widows, through a solicitor named by Hollie, on a life insurance policy taken on his brother-in-law`s life.

Meanwhile, Sylvester Cadger had been given an award for his bravery in trying to rescue Roy by the Royal Humane Society, which posed yet another question. In order to receive such an award his action must have been witnessed. It was not a member of the emergency services, although a later newspaper report mentioned a "passing nurse", odd in itself given the remoteness of the spot. However, there seems to be no record at all of this elusive individual, The Royal Humane Society does not know, the police do not know and Sylvester Cadger refuses to answer. Now Mr McGeechan, at the Crown office, has refused to disclose the identity of this person, always assuming that the individual actually exists.

Within the PCCs 2006 inquiry requested by Anne into Grampian police`s failures to investigate, no mention of Roy taking his own life was even mentioned in the extensive report.

When I was first arrested in 2010, on the 12th February and was questioned, I disclosed my concern about Sylvester Cadger`s role in Roy`s death. My suspicions were raised further when both the transcripts which arrived later thisfrom the Police and Crown Office had omitted the entire mention of Mr Cadger. When challenged, both stated that no omissions had been made and that the transcripts were faithful to the contents of the tape. Thanks to my solicitor, Mr Gerry Sweeney, who successfully pressed to obtain the tape, there was the section about Syvester Cadger. Why did the Police and Crown Office omit and then lie about it?

No other section had been tampered with.

It must be said that Sylvester Cadger is not among those named by Hollie and he is not one of the 61 prosecution witnesses in my case.

In May 2011, Malcolm Webster was convicted of the murder of his wife, Claire, in 1994 in a burning car not far from Aberdeen. Quite apart from it taking 17 years to convict Webster, there are some alarming similarities with Roy`s death. Grampian police initially described her death as an accident, despite police and fire officers who were present suspecting foul play at the outset. Several testified that they were told to forget their concerns and move on by senior officers. Grampian Police and the Crown Office even refused to conduct an investigation in 2001, when approached by the New Zealand Police, after Webster had tried to kill his second wife in similar circumstances. In fact, it took an intervention by Scotland Yard years later to force Grampian into appropriate action to secure the long-overdue conviction. Even more suspicious is that some senior personnel were the same as those in Roy`s case, the same pathologist and the same Chief Constable. Ian Oliver was forced to resign in disgrace after failures in the Scott Simpson case, a nine-year-old boy murdered by a paedophile. Two of her relatives named by Hollie as abusers also came before the court, described as friends of the murderer, from whom they received an unexplained payment of £10,000, Webster also made a fraudulent insurance claim of £200,000 on his wife`s life.

What is really going on at Grampian Police?

It really looks as though two attempted cover ups of similar murders in the nineties have taken place. It is surely now time to examine the true cause of the death of Robert David Greig.

I hope to have a new Senior and Junior Counsel available to represent me next week. It does appear that despite the new arrivals, the trial is likely to begin on Monday or Tuesday.

I would like to thank again all the many well-wishers who have so kindly offered their support and especially to those of you who are intending to make the long and difficult journey to Stonehaven, as has occurred on other occasions and which I appreciate so much.

Many have commented on a recent blog, where I mentioned Hollie`s interview with Grampian Police`s DS Lisa Evans on 8th September 2009, at which I was present. I would just remind everyone that Hollie gave her information very consistently with everything she has said previously, naming details of her abuse, specific individuals, other victims and locations. Of course, by this time, it had already been established that the state had accepted that Hollie had been a victim of sexual abuse by paying her £13,500 from public funds by the CICA, based on detailed analyses of Dr Jack Boyle and Dr Eva Harding, the latter naming unconditionally Hollie`s father and brother as serial abusers of Hollie. Dr Harding also mentioned one of her female abusers, a cousin of Hollie`s father who has been named by the prosecution in my case. Why was she not questioned in September 2009 and her computer examined?

Naturally, the CICA payment is based on a lower threshold of the balance of probabilities than in a criminal trial, but Dr Harding went on to say that apart from her father and brother, Hollie had "probably been abused by others who had access to her" . Given that Hollie had been accepted by the police as a competent and truthful witness, one might have reasonably expected Grampian Police to question all those named and follow normal police procedures in child sexual abuse allegations by examining the computers of all the alleged perpetrators. We now know that Grampian Police did no such thing, making absolutely no effort to carry out any meaningful investigation after Hollie`s incredible courage and clarity in reliving her ordeals before DS Evans.

In January 2010 certain individuals claimed to have been upset by warning leaflets I had sent out, with the motive of alerting people in Aberdeen of the persistent failure of Grampian Police and others to protect vulnerable citizens from a group who clearly needed to be thoroughly investigated. Immediately Grampian Police went out of its way to interview no fewer than 61 people, some of whom didn`t even want to complaint, according to their sworn statements. One of those responsible for seizing my computer whilst I was held in custody in February 2010 was the same DS Lisa Evans.

I have been asked how anyone can offer tangible help to me at the moment, as there can be little doubt that the Crown Office has consistently behaved towards me with a bias that would clearly appear to contradict Artcle 6(1) of the European Convention on Human Rights, that requires defendants to be treated fairly.

The most practical way would be to write to your MP, asking them to ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, Mr Michael Moore to examine this issue. Far, far more important than anything that may happen to me, is to press Mr Moore, through your MP, to call for inquiries into the failures to conduct adequate investigations by Grampian Police into Hollie`s allegations and to establish the true facts behind the brutal death of Robert David Greig.

Previously, we have seen how the Metropolitan Police failed to investigate the death of Stephen Lawrence and Grampian Police`s failure to do so in the case of Mrs Claire Webster, which has uncanny similarities to Robert Greig`s death and actually includes some of same personnel.

Frances McMenamin QC

May I thank all of you for the magnificent support I have received for my stance in not retaining Gary Allen QC, who refused to cooperate in calling Elish Angiolini. I must stress that I have no issue at all with Mr Allen and no reason to believe that he acted in anything other than a professional manner, but I was and remain, totally unconvinced of his argument that Angiolini`s presence in the witness box could possibly constitute any harm to the defence.

However, my earlier Senior Counsel, Frances McMenamin QC is in a very different situation. Based on the circumstances of 15th November at Stonehaven Court already published, particularly in the Scottish Law Reporter`s article of 9th December, it seems transparently clear that Ms McMenamin, along with senior Crown Office and Procurators Fiscal, conspired without my consent or knowledge, to attempt to coerce or imtimidate me into changing my plea to guilty and to disclose confidential court business to an uninvolved third party, the Scottish Sun. No responses have been received by any of the parties concerned to offer any lawful explanations to the polite questions I posed, once the Scottish Sun reporter had made his statements.

Today, I have completed my formal complaint to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission about Ms McMenamin, suggesting that in the public interest that she be suspended from the Faculty of Advocates until a full police investigation is completed, as it would appear that offences of a possible criminal nature may well have been committed. I have also informed Steve Burns, of Black Chambers, about the situation as it would be very unfair for the other members of her chambers to receive adverse publicity due to her misconduct. Black Chambers will make no comment at present over Ms McMenamin`s position.

To say that I am displeased with Ms McMenamin would be an understatement as I trusted her with defending me and regularly commented publicly on her excellent reputation. I regard myself as an easy-going person (I hope), but do not take betrayal very well.

I hope to have news of possible arrests by the police soon, if that is not too much to hope for in Scotland, but have named Procurators Fiscal Anne Currie and Stephen McGowan, who were both present in Stonehaven on 15th November, along with Ms McMenamin as likely suspects. Also, as witnesses, the Scottish Sun reporter, of course and Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen. It would not be right to accuse the Sheriff of any impropriety, but as the incidents happened under his personal jurisdiction, I have suggested that it might be in the best interests of justice that he recuse himself from my case whilst a police investigation into what seem to be prima facie offences has been concluded.

To those who are justifiably questioning the costs to the public purse of this extraordinary case, I should emphasise that I have always stressed the need for Elish Angiolini to be called as witness for the defence. Any concern about unnecessarily wasting further money should therefore be directed at my past Senior Counsels.

Angiolini As Witness

Today, I met my legal team again in Glasgow to discuss the forhcoming trial and the witnesses required for the defence.

I had made it clear that Elish Angiolini is probably the most important witness for the defence and must be called. However, after deliberations, Senior Counsel Gary Allen QC felt that Angiolini`s appearance in the witness box would prove damaging to the defence, on the grounds that she would refuse to answer questions that may incriminate her and in that, her position would be supported by the sheriff.

I stated that whilst I had never held any great expectation of Angiolini breaking down under cross-examination and confessing, I considered it valuable both to the defence and in the public interest for her to be seen in court, failing to answer pertinent questions about her conduct in public office in connection with both my case and that of Hollie. It has been her failings and private interventions with the media, using public funds, that led to me taking the course that has resulted in the prosecution that she in fact personally authorised.

Thus I regard her as a key witness. I also failed to see how Angiolini being cross-examined could possibly harm the defence.

As a result of our difference of opinion, we have mutually agreed that I would be best served by instructing another Senior Counsel to represent me. I accept that Mr Allen and Junior Counsel, who supported his view, were acting professionally in what they deemed to be my best interests and there is hence no ill will of any kind. It is just that an impasse was reached on a single important issue that could not be resolved.

My solicitor will try to find a new team to represent me in the future, but it must be on the fundamental basis that Elish Angiolini is called as witness for the defence. I will not accept any deviation from that position.

It appears obvious that given the complexity of the case, it would be unrealistic for the trial to still go ahead on 16th January, as it would take a new team, even if it were to be assembled quickly, a considerable amount of time to examine the vast amount of documentation and to have the appropriate consultations, but I must await advice from my solicitor on that point.

I am anxious to emphasise that no criticism should be made about Counsels` decision today. It was a honest but irrevocable divergence of view.

The Daily Mail and Stephen Lawrence

Today, some justice was finally done by the conviction of two of the murderers of Stephen Lawrence, after eighteen years of gallant effort by the poor young man`s parents and others.

The Daily Mail has been congratulated for publishing an article, some years ago, after the police had discontinued the initial investigation due to "insufficient evidence"- where have we heard that before?

The Mail decided to go ahead and name the five men it believed to have killed Stephen on the basis that it was in the public interest, that the police`s investigation was unsatisfactory and that given the nature of the crime, the public remained at risk from the perpetrators. The Daily Mail went on to invite anyone who thought the article inaccurate to take action against it. No one did.

This is precisely the position that I have always taken in the cases of Hollie Greig and Robert Greig, yet I am being prosecuted.

Let us hope that it does not take as long as eighteen years for these terrible crimes to be fully investigated.

Coming Trial, Monday 16th January.

Although there will, no doubt, be discussions involving both sets of legal representatives, at present there remains the prospect of a maximum combined total of 96 witnesses being called by the prosecution and the defence.

As far as the prosecution is concerned, the two individuals named unconditionally as sexual abusers in Dr Eva Harding`s successful report to the CICA, which resulted in the compensation award by the state to Hollie, have not been identified by the prosecution for some reason that one can only speculate upon. The pair are, of course, the father and brother of Hollie, whom one might reasonably expect to be the most distressed of all the possible witnesses, if my allegations were without substance. However, I do intend to call them for the defence.

In fairness, it must be said that one other alleged abuser of Hollie, a female relative named in Dr Harding`s report, has provided a statement for the Crown and I shall be most interested to see how she behaves under cross-examination.

It may be that pyschological and medical examinations may be required of some witnesses to establish further whether or not they are telling the truth, as I am given to understand that reasonably reliable analyses exist in cases of ritual abuse for both perpetrators and victims.

Meanwhile, I am awaiting a response to my formal complaint to PC Vicky Henderson of the seemingly prima facie case of crime being committed in Stonehaven Court on 15th November involving the Crown, Frances McMenamin QC and a reporter from the Scottish Sun. Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen has also been named as a possible witness to the likely offences committed.

Finally, may I wish all the kind people throughout the world who have been following the Hollie Greig case a very Happy New Year and to thank you all for your support. It means so much to Hollie and Anne.

On 8th September 2009, I was present as Hollie Greig was interviewed for three and a half hours by Grampian Police officer DS Lisa Evans. During the interview, Hollie, accepted as a competent and truthful witness, gave clear details of the sexual abuses she had endured, the identities of her abusers and locations where the abuses took place.

No-one else was subsequently interviewed, no computers belonging to the alleged abusers were examined and no expert medical witnesses, whose testimonies supported Hollie`s allegations, were contacted, despite the state having earlier granted Hollie £13,500 in compensation for her suffering as a result of the crimes she had described.

In January 2010, certain individuals took exception to my efforts to warn the citizens of Aberdeen of the police`s failures and that vulnerable children and the disabled were likely to be continually at risk as a direct result.

Grampian Police promptly interviewed no fewer than sixty-one people and even sent two detectives from Aberdeen to Glasgow in order to interview solicitor Peter Watson, of Levy &McRae, who had earler issued threats to the media on behalf of Elish Angiolini to prevent stories of her proven involvement in the Hollie Greig case entering the public domain.

As soon as I was arrested on 12th February 2010, Grampian Police arranged for four officers to be sent on a 700-mile round trip to my home in Cheshire, to seize personal documents including my computer records. One of those officers was DS Lisa Evans, who had previously taken no action to seize the computers of the alleged sexual offenders.

In 2001, when Elish Angiolini was Procurator Fiscal in Aberdeen, having prevented an investigation in the allegations made by Hollie in 2000, she also failed to have a 22-year-old man charged, who actually admitted to having raped a girl of 10 and a boy of 7. Working with Angiolini on this case was the same sheriff who Hollie has accused of abusing her. The story of this shocking failure was published in May 2001
in The Times and by Tara Womersley in The Telegraph. Angiolini was forced to issue a public apology for her incompetence, claiming as an excuse that her department was understaffed.

In 2010, in contrast, Angiolini lost no time at all in having me arrested and charged for a "Breach of the Peace".

Freemasons and the Hollie Greig case?

As many followers of the case and those related to it, including my own, will be aware, I have made it clear that I regard it as unfair that there is general criticism relating to undue influence being exerted by members of the Freemasons in suppressing the true facts about the attacks on Hollie and others or the murder of her uncle.

I have absolutely no evidence to support that supposition and am aware that many of our most loyal followers are Freemasons. I have also known many members of the organisation during my lifetime and found most of them to be people of the highest calibre and rectitude. Therefore, I bear no personal ill-will towards Freemasonry in general and would only challenge any individual I thought may be abusing membership in order to pervert the course of justice.

However, an incident took place at Stonehaven Court on 30th April 2010 that I have hitherto not published, but as my trial date draws near and the Scottish establishment have not seen fit to drop the charges against me, I believe that it is in the interests of justice and impartiality that I should now mention it.

The hearing came as a result of my application for a variation on my bail conditions to allow me to campaign freely as parliamentary candidate for Aberdeen South in the last few days prior to the General Election on 6th May, which had hitherto been denied me. I was to be represented by Aberdeen solicitor George Mathers, but he withdrew unexpectedly at the last minute, leaving me with no option but to fend for myself. My application was refused, albeit on extremely controversial grounds that have already been discussed.

In my elevated position in the witness box, I was able to see Crown Prosecutor Stephen McGowan pass an A4 size document in black and white to Sheriff Patrick Davies, covered entirely by the commonly used square and compass symbol of Freemasonry. As I had made no attack on the Freemasons, I could not understand why such a document could possibly be used in evidence against me. Frankly, I was placed in the dilemma of challenging McGowan and Davies at that point or giving the impression that I had not seen the transaction. As the hearing was held in secret with no supporters, press or independent witnesses present, I decided to take the latter course.

However, Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen has just ruled to deny me the availability of Stephen McGowan as an important witness for the defence, allowing the latter to lead the prosecution against me. Therefore, in order to avoid any widespread perception of any conflict of interest that may be thought to exist, and in the best interests of justice and fair play, I shall ask, at the beginning of the trial, whether the Sheriff and the Crown Prosecutor are Freemasons.

Stonehaven Court - again!

Yesterday, the hearing at Stonehaven was presided over by Sheriff-Principal Edward Bowen. Despite stating on 14th November that he would not be participating in a future trial in this case, it seems that now he will be in charge again on 16th January.

It must be said that my new legal team, led by Gary Allen QC, did very well in overcoming an objection by the Crown to the use of Article 10(1) of the European Convention on Human Rights in my defence. However, despite Mr Allen`s eloquent and well-reasoned view that Procurator Fiscal Stephen McGowan is regarded as an important witness for the defence, the sheriff decided not to support the defence`s plea which means, bizarrely, that McGowan is now free to lead the prosecution again.

Not only should McGowan have been ordered to appear as a defence witness, but he is also part of an serious investigation concerning false statements made earlier in court, on 13th April and 18th August respectively, by fellow Procurator Fiscal Anne Currie and by Mr McGowan himself.

I have also now lodged a formal complaint with Police Officer Vicky Henderson in Stonehaven in regard to the events of 15th November, concerning what appears to be a prima facie case of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice involving the Crown Office and my former Senior Counsel, Frances McMenamin QC. There is also likely to be a further crime involving disclosure of confidential court proceedings by the Crown office to the Scottish Sun.

Key witnesses are likely to include Sheriff Principal Bowen, Anne Currie and Stephen McGowan again, the latter seen by two witnesses as having entered a room in the court building in discussion with the Scottish Sun reporter.

That McGowan, despite all this, can still be allowed or would even wish to represent the Crown in prosecuting this case in such deeply suspicious circumstances is an indication everything that is wrong with the Scottish justice system and its endemic and shameless lack of integrity.

Finally, may I wish all those kind, brave and loyal supporters of Hollie the very best for Christmas and the New Year. I feel sure that by working together, this terrible evil that infects and intimidates the highest echelons of Scottish society and beyond can be exposed and overcome.

Alex Salmond - Scottish Patriot?

The position of First Minister Alex Salmond in regard to Hollie`s case has been a curious one, as he perpetually claims to stand for the interests of the Scottish people - but to which Scottish people is he referring?

Surely not the vulnerable children and disabled of Aberdeen, facing rape and ritual abuse, whose plight he has not only ignored, but also made false statements about his involvement in and knowledge of the Hollie Greig case, as published in The Firm magazine of 11th July.

Whatever one`s views on the case, it seems distinctly odd that two English MPs, Andrew George and David Ruffley, have gone out of their way to register their considerable disquiet about the lack of proper investigation into the case and that an English member of the House of Lords, Lord Monckton has gone on film to demand a public inquiry. It is also puzzling that the First Minister and his SNP Westminster colleagues showed no interest in attending the meeting in the House of Commons in which I was invited to speak about the case.

Meanwhile, Mr Salmond, who represents a constituency neighbouring that of the scene of the atrocities, now maintains an undignified silence. Who is he seeking to protect and why?

He appears to display a staggering personal loyalty to Elish Angiolini, made all the more remarkable as she is not a member of the SNP and a Unionist - and what about his magic circle friends and associates in the North-East?

Are these the Scottish people whose personal interests he really stands for?

Perhaps the First Minister may wish to clarify his stance to the people and taxpayers of Scotland.

On a different note, many thanks for all of you who have kindly sent me cards and Christmas and New Year good wishes. If I do not manage to reciprocate personally, please forgive me, but I have received a very considerable number of messages. One surprising and charming Christmas card has arrived from Terra Firma, Elish Angiolini`s Chambers. I do hope that it has not been sent to me in error.

Crown Office - Running Scared?

I attempted to speak to the Lord Advocate, Frank Mulholland, today, regarding his failure to respond to my email requesting an explanation about the events of 15th November, as I have good reason to believe that confidential information (albeit inaccurate and premature) about my case was disclosed to a third party not involved (The Scottish Sun).

As the details so far available indicate that this leak came from the Crown Office, I feel that it is entirely reasonable that an explanation should be provided to me.

My call today, on 0131 226 2626, was taken by a male who described himself as a security man, who proceeded to tell me that he was under orders not to put my calls through to anyone in the Crown Office! He refused to identify himself.

These are public officials who are refusing to respond to a request directly concerning me, that must be regarded as reasonable, given the circumstances and the contents of the article in the Scottish Law Reporter.

There is the separate issue of whether there existed a conspiracy against me between the Crown Office and my former Senior Counsel, Frances McMenamin QC. She too has failed to respond to my request for an explanation, so I have approached the Faculty of Advocates for advice as to how to formulate a complaint against her.

The editor of the Scottish Sun, David Dinsmore, has similarly refused to comment on the statements attributed to one of his paper`s journalists.

If no serious irregularity has taken place, why does this wall of silence exist?

The issue highlighted in the recent article in the Scottish Law Reporter remains unresolved, owing to the continued refusal of those involved to respond to my requests.

On Tuesday morning, 15th November, a reporter from the Scottish Sun arrived at Stonehaven Court, stating the reason as having been informed by the Crown Office that a deal had been done in which I would plead guilty to the charges. No such deal had been done, nor would I envisage making any deal with a body as transparently and blatantly corrupt as the Crown Office in Scotland. Significantly, the Scottish Sun had hitherto shown no obvious interest in the plight of Hollie nor my own case.

Curiously, after repeatedly been informed for many months that my position vis-a-vis the Crown was a fundamentally strong one, at ten that morning, my Senior Counsel suddenly informed me that if I was not willing to change my plea to guilty, she was no longer prepared to represent me. Naturally, I flatly declined this unwelcome offer.

Since then, the Scottish Sun reporter`s information points to a conspiracy behind my back between the Crown Office and my ex-Senior Counsel, even to the extent of disclosing this important issue of which I knew nothing to a third party not involved in the case. It has also been stated that the Crown Office had already prepared a press release.

I have given my former Senior Counsel, Frances McMenamin, several days to offer an explanation and extended the same courtesy to Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland and Scottish Sun editor David Dinsmore, since it would not be appropriate to make serious allegations over this incident without offering those thought to be involved an opportunity to provide an explanation.

It must be said that no response has yet been received to my polite enquiries.

I am due back in Stonehaven Court on Wednesday 21st December, the hearing being held purely to discuss the defence`s citation to call the Crown`s Chief Prosecutor Stephen McGowan as a witness. McGowan is also currently playing a part into investigations against Procurator Fiscal Anne Currie`s clear attempt to mislead Sheriff Valerie Johnston on 13th April 2011. McGowan has already made a false statement to the investigation`s director over the content of his own statement in open court, again before Sheriff Johnston, on the 18th August 2011.

Furthermore, McGowan also made a misleading and inaccurate statement about Elish Angiolini`s role in the Hollie Greig case in a letter to Anne Greig on 4th December 2009.

It does not seem reasonable to believe, under Article 6(1) of the European Court of Human rights, that I could ever receive a fair trial in Scotland.

Finally, I have had the most kind offers again from loyal and courageous people to attend the hearing, but do not know if there will be much excitement and am concerned over the time, expense and travel at this time of the year, so I should not be at all disappointed to be there merely with my new legal team.

The Crown Office - Unfit To Prosecute me, Unfit For Purpose?

Many similar instances of malpractice in this case have occurred, beginning with my exposing Elish Angiolini`s established misconduct in 2009 and 2010 as highlighted in previous blogs.

On 4th December 2009, Procurator Fiscal Stephen McGowan made a false statement about the involvement of Elish Angiolini in the Hollie Greig case. He has since made a false statement to an official investigation in regards to his statement in open court on 18th August 2011. Despite being asked to remove himself as chief prosecutor by my defence lawyers, he still refuses to go. He has also been served a citation to appear as a key witness for the defence. A further hearing at Stonehaven about this sole issue will take place on 21st December.

On the 12th and 13th February 2010, I was arrested and charged in Aberdeen and had my home in Cheshire raided, in which my entire defence was stolen and has not yet been returned to me. Of course, my computer was among the many items taken. Curiously, the father and brother of Hollie never even had their computers checked, which is standard police procedure when individuals are accused of serious sexual offences.

It tok sixteen months of evasions before Grampian Police provided a copy of the search warrant, to find that it had been signed by Sheriff Patrick Davies, a close associate of one of the accused.

My arrest was authorised by Elish Angiolini, the personi had earlier publicly exposed for malpractice whilst holding the office of Lord Advocate.

Sheriff Davies went on to officiate at four subsequent hearings, including one closed session on 30th April 2010, denying me the opportunity to campaign as candidate for te Aberdeen South constituency by making a provably inaccurate statement in one of his reasons for doing so.

On 13th April 2011, in open court, Procurator Fiscal Anne Currie misled Sheriff Valerie Johnston regarding witnesses she falsely and deliberately stated were suffering from trauma, in an attempt to procure a miscarriage of justice against me. She is currently subject to an official investigation as a result and has continued to lie to the investigator about the content of her statement.

Around this time, the Scottish Legal Aid Board were persistently attempting to deny me Legal Aid. A member of the Board is Douglas Haggarty QC, a convicted sex offender, who had been apprehended in a public toilet in Glasgow with a 17-year-old male prostitute. Such is the calibre of those in whose hands my freedom depends.

On the afternoon of 14th November 2011, six hours after the trial had begun, I was told that the prosecution had suddenly produced sixty-one witness statements, none of which had been disclosed to me and I have still yet to see.

Now we have the highly suspicious incident that took place on 15th November 2011, after my Senior Counsel had unexpectedly and inexplicibly suggested that I change my plea to guilty, just hours after being led to believe that the Crown`s position was hopeless.

Given its obligations to objectivity, balance and impartiality, do you think the Crown Office is fit to prosecute me?

Elish Angiolini DBE

On the 16th January, my trial is due to resume in Stonehaven.

I intend to call Elish Angiolini, former Lord Advocate, as a witness for the defence. Angiolini has been a central figure in the Hollie Greig since she decided, in 2000, as Procurator Fiscal , to quash any attempt at an investigation after Hollie had named prominent members of the Aberdeen establishment among her attackers.
Moreover, when later challenged about her involvement in 2009, when she was Lord Advocate, she lied about her connection, which was clearly established by documentary evidence held from the relevant period.

Angiolini`s misconduct did not end there.

Later in 2009, Angiolini, using Peter Watson, of private law firm Levy & McRae in her personal capacity, threatened organs of the media both in Scotland and beyond, if they should mention details of her earlier involvement in the case. When challenged as to how Levy & McRae had been paid for its services, Angiolini refused to respond. Clearly this led to a strong suspicion that Scottish taxpayers` money had been misappropriated for the Lord Advocate`s personal use and potential private financial gain.

This suspicion was compounded when the Freedom of Information Commissioner took up the case in November 2010. Until Angiolini`s departure from office on 5th May 2011, this important issue remained unresolved due to her continual failure to answer,

On the 4th July 2011, the eminent Ian Hamilton QC, as reported in The Drum magazine, objected to Mrs Angiolini being accepted into the Faculty of Advocates, stating "Although holding the public office of Lord Advocate, she persistently refused to answer questions put to her under the Freedom of Information Act."

Such conduct from the head of the justice system is transparently unacceptable and against the public interest. In fact, having successfully exposed Angiolini, it was she who was responsible for my being arrested and charged on 12th February 2010, a blatant case of a conflict of interest, furthermore reasonably indicating a possible motive of personal retribution against me.

It will be most interesting to observe how the former Lord Advocate behaves under cross-examination, where it is hoped that the truth about her conduct will be publicly established.

It should not be overlooked that it is largely due to the failings of Elish Angiolini that has led to the existence of the Hollie Greig campaign. If she had initially carried out her public duties properly, the matter would have been dealt with appropriately and all concerned, whether victims or alleged perpetrators, would have been treated fairly under the protection of the law.

Meeting at the House of Commons

The event was most interesting, attended by a wide range of experts in the field of ritual abuse as well as a number of distinguished guests and fellow speakers, which included two young but extremely efficient police officers from South Wales, who have recently brought to justice members of a satanic paedophile ring operating in Kidwelly. If only there had been officers of similar calibre in the Grampian area, then the whole Hollie Greig campaign would have been unnecessary, as I have no doubt that the proper investigations that Hollie, Anne and the Aberdeen public are entitled to expect from its police force would have been carried out.

A number of members of the Commons and the Lords attended the meeting and the level of potential support and interest in Hollie`s case was extremely encouraging. I was very grateful to be given the opportunity to address a meeting of this kind and every effort will be made to build on these important contacts.

Frank Mulholland and the Death of Robert David Greig

Throughout all the state`s innumerable attempts to obstruct and pervert the course of justice in relation to Hollie`s case and those related to it, none could be more blatant than the continued failure of the Scottish establishment to conduct a full investigation into the death of Hollie`s much-loved uncle, Robert David Greig, found in a burning stationary car in a remote lane to the north of Aberdeen on the night of 17th November 1997.

After a good deal of persistence, I received an anonymous email from the Crown Office on 30th August, stating that it had been concluded that Mr Greig had died by suicide.

Although a great deal of information, much of a documentary nature, has since clearly and overwhelmingly indicated murder, all the circumstances, even at the time of his death, pointed to foul play. I shall be laying out full details of the evidence and circumstances in a future blog, but what I can say is that suicide by fire is a very rare occurrence, Grampian Police admitting that during the past ten years, there has only been recorded one such similar event. This did not prevent the authorities concluding, in a document I hold, that Mr Greig had committed suicide just four hours after his death.

The NHS has also recently confirmed that it has no knowledge that any medical reports were ever requested about Mr Greig`s health by any investigating body and Robert Greig`s next-of-kin was never questioned about this vital aspect.

Many interested parties, including MP Andrew George, have stated that there appears to be a lot of evidence relating to these issues that point in one direction only, indicating that the whole case deserves a thorough review.

I have recently contacted the current Lord Advocate, Frank Mulholland on three occasions, not only requesting the identity of the author of the Crown Office`s email, but also asking him to endorse the statement about Robert Greig`s suicide if he believes that to be true.

The Lord Advocate has refused to do this.

Court Hearing Monday 21st November

Sheriff Principal Bowen heard the application of Edinburgh Procurator Fiscal Stephen McGowan`s request to remain as Crown Prosecutor, despite having been called as a witness for the defence.

Mr Alan MacLeod, for the defence, stated that as he was part of a new legal team and that time was needed to assimilate all the copious and complex evidence, requested that the trial be delayed until 16th January at the earliest. This was opposed by Grampian Area Procurator Fiscal Anne Currie, who wished for the trial to go ahead as quickly as possible in the interests of the Crown witnesses. Mr MacLeod responded that if the sheriff accepted this, the whole defence team would have to withdraw as it would be impossible and unreasonable for them to prepare its case in a short amount of time, given its undoubted complexity.

Sheriff Bowen accepted the defence`s plea and ruled that the trial should commence on 16th January and that an interim hearing to resolve the issue of Mr McGowan`s refusal to recuse himself should be heard on 21st December.

The sheriff also voiced his concerns about the rising costs of pursuing the case.

Compare And Contrast

Further to the article in the "Scottish Law Reporter", it has been pointed out to me that there is a marked contrast between the massive efforts made by the police and COPFS to prosecute me for Breach of the Peace and their failure to prosecute anyone in relation to the alleged sexual abuse of Hollie Greig by a paedophile ring.

I would remind everyone that Hollie received a payment of £13,500 from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority in spite of the fact that no-one was ever charged with any crime. I am well aware that the standard of proof required to justify a compensation payment is less than that to secure a criminal conviction, however, what can be established beyond reasonable doubt is that no investigation worthy of the name was carried out by Grampian Police following Hollie's allegations.

The so-called "investigation" consisted of one interview each with two members of Hollie's family.

The other alleged abusers were not interviewed due to the fact that their names did not appear on police records and the police could not establish any links between them.

The other persons whom Hollie named as victims were not interviewed.

To the best of my knowledge, no attempt was made to gather forensic evidence.

There were no searches made of any of the properties where abuse was alleged to have taken place.

No attempt was made to have Hollie questioned by a doctor or a psychiatrist.

Day Two In Court

I arrived early at court today for a meeting with my legal team and received some unexpected news. They advised me that, having looked at all the evidence, I should plead guilty. I then told them that I had no intention of changing my not guilty plea, which left them no alternative but to stand down. We left on good terms and I thank them for their efforts.

In the courtroom, where the Crown was represented by Anne Currie, the Sheriff adjourned the trial until Monday 21st November to allow me the opportunity to assemble a new legal team.

Day One In Court

Twenty-one months after my arrest my trial has finally got underway at Stonehaven in front of Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen.

After a morning of legal arguments my defence team served a witness citation during the lunch break on Stephen McGowan. As Mr McGowan is the Procurator Fiscal representing the Crown in this case, this citation may have put him in an awkward position and he asked for the case to be adjourned until tomorrow to allow him to consider his position.

My team took this action as the documents produced by the Crown in evidence included correspondence between myself and Mr McGowan, dated before my arrest, relating to the decision by the Procurator Fiscal not to prosecute anyone in relation to the allegations of sexual abuse made by Hollie Greig.

When Is A Vulnerable Witness Not A Vulnerable Witness ?

In my blog on September 6th I pointed out the inconsistency between two statements made by the Crown at intermediate diets in April and August.

I wrote to the Crown Office asking for an explanation of this matter and have now received a belated response from Mr David B Harvie, Director of Serious Casework.

I will quote from Mr Harvie's response:

"You claim that, in opposing your motion to adjourn, Ms Currie indicated that there were 50 Crown witnesses available for the period of the trial and that half were vulnerable witnesses suffering from trauma as a result of your alleged conduct..... Ms Currie made it clear to the sheriff that she was using the word "vulnerable" in the everyday meaning of the word. The sheriff could not therefore have considered Ms Currie was referring to the specific legal definition of "vulnerable witness" found in section 271 of the Criminal Procedure of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995."

This statement is quite simply untrue. I was standing approximately ten feet from Anne Currie when she referred to "vulnerable witnesses" and, unless she used some form of secret code, she made absolutely no attempt to clarify that she was using the word "vulnerable" in it's everyday sense. Several other persons in court on the day will also be able to vouch for this.

I would point out that on the day when Anne Currie referred to "vulnerable witnesses suffering from trauma", I was forced to represent myself in court as my Legal Aid application had been refused at that stage.

Mr Harvie goes on to say:

"...you have misunderstood what was said to the presiding sheriff at the intermediate diet on 18 August by Mr McGowan. He advised the court that there were 18 complainers. this is not equivalent to stating that there are 18 witnesses."

Once again this statement is simply untrue. I have a very clear recollection that Stephen McGowan referred to "18 civilian witnesses", and other persons in court on the day share this recollection. The comment was made in the context of the Crown arguing that the trial should not be delayed, so the number of witnesses was relevant but the number of complainers was not.

I am deeply concerned that the Crown Office's response to my complaint should contain two untrue statements. I have advised Mr Harvie of these errors, and when he establishes the facts it may well be that he re-considers his opinion that "the conduct of the Area Procurator Fiscal for Grampian on 13 April 2011 was entirely appropriate".

The Charges Which I Will Face At My Trial

On various occasions between 1 June 2009 and 7 December 2010 at (various Aberdeen addresses) High Street, Princes Street Gardens and Meadowbank Stadium, all Edinburgh you did conduct yourself in a disorderly manner, conduct a public campaign of harassment against named persons, send and cause to be delivered letters, leaflets, emails etc to various persons, post or cause to be posted articles etc on internet websites, take part in online radio broadcasts and internet discussions and by said means repeatedly make allegations of sexual abuse of named children, murder and complicity in murder and the suppression of evidence against AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (SIXTEEN NAMES REDACTED), place them in a state of fear and alarm for their safety, in particular to the alleged victims of sexual abuse, causing the apprehension of a serious public disturbance in Aberdeen and elsewhere in the UK and commit a breach of the peace.

On various occasions between 5 March 2010 and 7 December 2010 you failed to comply with bail conditions in that you participated in television and radio broadcasts and online discussions using the internet regarding the allegations libelled against you and participated in public meetings, distributed leaflets, contacted other individuals and placed adverts in the Evening Express and Press & Journal regarding the allegations libelled against you.

You did between 22 April 2010 and 7 December 2010 participate in online and telephone discussions which were not for the sole purpose of social contact with friends and family in breach of your bail conditions.

On 14 August 2010 you sent emails to (TWO NAMES REDACTED) that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, in that said messages related to allegations of sexual abuse of children and murder contrary to the Communications Act 2003.

On 1 September 2010 you sent emails to (ONE NAME REDACTED) that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, in that said messages related to allegations of sexual abuse of children and murder contrary to the Communications Act 2003.

Yet More Injustice In Scotland

Although there has been little or no coverage in the mainstream media of my own case, the newspapers do report on some of the other blatant abuses of the criminal justice system in Scotland.

In the latest case, a widow is claiming that her husband's death was not properly investigated by Lothian and Borders police.

Martin Douglas was killed after being hit by a car in Edinburgh. The driver drove off, but a charge of leaving the scene of the crime was dropped in spite of the fact that there were 58 witnesses. The driver was not breathalysed and there are discrepancies between the police accident report and the pathologists report.

The driver has recently been revealed as an off-duty police officer, who last year was pictured meeting "Justice" Secretary, Kenny MacAskill.

My latest court appearance, which necessitated a 700 mile round trip, lasted approximately 30 seconds and it was decided that my next intermediate diet would take place on November 2nd.

The trial diet remains scheduled for November 14th, although this is not set in stone.

How You Can Help To Defend Freedom Of Speech

On the 14th November, I am to stand trial at Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire on a breach of the peace charge. Due to the anticipated large number of witnesses, the proceedings are set to last for two weeks.

This issue, I believe, is of importance far beyond the parameters of the case itself. It revolves around the concept of openness versus secrecy in our society. It must now be obvious to any reasonable person following the Hollie Greig case that the degree of secrecy involving senior state officials in trying to obstruct and pervert the course of justice by making clandestine agreements behind closed doors is completely unacceptable in any civilised and democratic society.

What Are We Trying To Achieve ?

Our primary aim is very simple. We want Justice for Hollie and the first step in that process must be for the police to conduct an open-minded and thorough investigation of her various allegations.

Irrespective of the outcome of these investigations, we also want a full public enquiry into the failure to properly investigate the allegations in 2000 and the reasons why various public bodies have, not only denied Hollie justice, but actively persecuted her and her mother.

Regrettably, I do not believe we will achieve these twin aims as a result of the authorities recognising that this is the right and proper thing to do. I believe that we will only achieve them as a result of widespread public pressure being brought to bear on the authorities. Therefore it is essential that, not only do we do everything we can to generate awareness of Hollie's case, but that we must always take care to present both ourselves and the case as being wholly credible and serious. We are seeking much greater coverage in the mainstream media, and I believe that this will happen, but we must always convey the message in the correct manner.

We must take great care not to present Hollie's case as part of a greater conspiracy. It is humanitarian single-issue campaign with no connection to any other cause. We cannot afford to be distracted by irrelevant issues.

We must avoid exaggeration or speculation about the possible motives behind the failure to investigate the allegations. The facts are so powerful that they do not require any embellishment.

On a related theme, I am often asked to endorse or assist other anti-paedophile campaigns. The scale of child abuse, both in the UK and abroad, appears to be horrific and I applaud those who are genuinely trying to combat this evil and to raise awareness. However, as I am fully committed to the Hollie Greig case, I regret that I am unable to actively support any other causes.

Kenny MacAskill Helps Hollie's Campaign For Justice

Regular readers of this blog will know that I do not hold Scotland's "Justice" Secretary, Kenny MacAskill, in high regard. Nevertheless a recent statement made by Mr MacAskill can be regarded as positive news for our campaign.

The first step for Hollie to achieve justice must be for the allegations she has made to be thoroughly investigated by the police. As Grampian Police's previous "investigations" can best be described as a whitewash, it is difficult to imagine how they could possibly launch a proper investigation at this time.

Thanks to Mr MacAskill's plan to merge the Scottish police forces, Grampian Police will soon cease to exist and we can look forward to a new police force investigating Hollie's allegations without being weighed down by the baggage of the past.

I Am Prepared To Engage In Open Debate

On Thursday 25th August, I was interviewed live on the Edge Media (Sky Channel 200) programme On The Edge, with regard to many aspects of the Hollie Greig case. Of course, I strongly criticised individuals and organisations I believe responsible for their conduct and obstructing the course of justice.

A statement was subsequently published by Edge Media that I was willing to engage in open, live debate with any of those named who considered my remarks to be unfair or inaccurate. The TV station has made it known that it is prepared to offer its faciities to enable such a debate to take place.

To date, not one person or organisation so named has been prepared to accept the challenge.

The overall invitation still holds, but I would particularly wish to invite Kenny MacAskill, the Scottish Justice Secretary to come forward. When I last challenged him publicly at a pre-election meeting in Edinburgh in April, he refused to comment on the grounds that I was facing criminal charges. This was, of course, a bluff, as such as discussion is completely outwith the terms of the charges against me as it focuses on the conduct of the Scottish government and other public bodies, not on mine.

As it is my policy to take people on face-to-face if I choose to criticise them, I have always invited opponents to come forward for debate throughout the Hollie Greig campaign, but so far, none holding public office have accepted.

I firmly believe that it is in the public interest for all aspects of the Hollie Greig case to be openly debated rather than swept under the carpet.

Vulnerable And Traumatised Witnesses ?

On April 13th of this year I attended Stonehaven Sheriff Court for an intermediate diet. I was forced to represent myself, as at that time my Legal Aid had been withdrawn. I asked the court to delay the trial, which at that time was scheduled to commence in June to allow me time to deal with the Legal Aid issues.

The Crown, represented by Anne Currie, the Area Procurator Fiscal for Grampian, strongly objected to this and claimed that the trial date should not be altered as they had 50 witnesses scheduled to attend, half of whom were "vulnerable" as they had suffered "trauma" due to my actions.

On that occasion Sheriff Val Johnston agreed with the Crown's view and the trial date was maintained until the next intermediate diet.

At the latest intermediate diet which took place on August 18th the Crown, on this occasion represented by a male fiscal whose name I do not know, stated that they had only 18 civilian witness and there was no mention of any trauma they had suffered. The Crown confirmed that no application whatsoever had been made to the Court in relation to any of the vulnerable witnesses referred to by Anne Currie.

I referred to a medical dictionary which defined "trauma" as: "A severely disturbing experience that leads to lasting psychological or emotional impairment." I would expect that if anyone had suffered trauma as a result of my actions that they would have claimed damages against me in a civil court case but this has not happened.

I am at a loss to understand why, in the space of four months, the number of witnesses against me has reduced dramatically and also how those vulnerable witnesses appeared to have recovered from the trauma they were suffering.

It has been suggested to me that perhaps the Crown exaggerated the case against me at the Intermediate Diet in order to press ahead to a trial at a time when I had no defence team due to the withdrawal of Legal Aid. I will be asking the Crown to provide a full explanation of the comments made in court in April.

Summary Of The Hollie Greig Case

The ongoing Hollie Greig case is so complicated that I believe it is worthwhile to recap the key facts.

In 2000, Hollie, a twenty year old woman with Downs Syndrome, told her mother, Anne, that she had been abused over many years by a paedophile ring in her home town of Aberdeen.

These allegations were reported to Grampian Police but their "investigation" was extremely limited. They only interviewed 2 members of the alleged ring on one occasion each and failed to interview any of the other 6 children named by Hollie as fellow-victims. There were no searches made at any of the properties where the abuse was alleged to have taken place and no medical experts were asked to assist.

Shortly after the allegations were made, Anne was forcibly sectioned against her will in Cornhill Psychiatric Hospital in Aberdeen where she was held for 3 days. It is a matter of public record that this sectioning was initiated by Grampian Police. Anne has no history of mental illness and, within a few weeks of her release from Cornhill, she was assessed by an independent psychiatrist who pronounced her perfectly sane.

In 2005, Hollie was awarded £13,500 from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, in spite of the fact that no-one had ever been charged with any offence. The CICA based it's award on evidence from medical experts, including the eminent psychologist Dr Eva Harding who stated unequivocally that Hollie had been sexually abused.

Anne and Hollie did not regard this payout as a satisfactory conclusion and were determined to see the abusers brought to justice. However they were continually frustrated in their attempts by officialdom and felt as if they were banging their heads against a brick wall.

In 2009, I began to assist Anne and Hollie and, after encountering the same type of problems when trying to achieve justice through the official channels, I was encouraged when I was approached by the BBC who asked if they could produce a documentary about the case. However this proved to be another disappointment as, after two months working on the programme, the BBC abruptly decided to halt production.

In October 2009, in an attempt to break the impasse, I named the members of the alleged paedophile ring at a public meeting in Edinburgh. This prompted some limited media coverage in publications including "The Firm" and "UK Column". In December 2009, Scotland's most senior legal official, the Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini, issued a warning letter to various media outlets via the Glasgow legal firm Levy & MacRae, asking them not to publicise the case. Mrs Angiolini has declined to answer a Freedom of Information request asking whether she used public funds to pay for this action.

Early in 2010, I announced my intention to stand as a General Election candidate in an Aberdeen constituency. On February 12th 2010 I visited Aberdeen with the intention of distributing leaflets to launch my campaign. Before I could do this however, I was arrested by plain clothes police officers and charged with Breach of the Peace. I was released subject to bail conditions which prohibited me from entering Aberdeenshire or using the internet and required me to report to my local police station thrice weekly. Such is the complexity of the case that I have been awarded Legal Aid to fund a high calibre legal team led by Frances McMenamin QC. My trial is scheduled to commence on November 14th 2011 and is expected to last for two weeks.

Colin McKerracher Is Horrified

I was alerted to a newspaper headline in which Colin McKerracher, Chief Constable of Grampian Police, declares he is "horrified". This seemed promising, so I read on.

Was he horrified to realise that Grampian Police had failed to properly investigate the abuse allegations made by Hollie Greig ?

Was he horrified to learn of the part Grampian Police played in the sectioning of Hollie's mother, Anne ?

Was he horrified to discover some of the facts surrounding the suspicious death of Hollie's uncle, Roy ?

Was he horrified that Grampian Police had arrested myself for Breach of the Peace for attempting to get Hollie's story heard ?

In fact ,it is none of the above. Mr McKerracher is horrified at the prospect of a single police force in Scotland. Why is Mr McKerracher so vocal about this matter when he remains silent about the Hollie Greig case ?

New Trial Date

Yesterday I attended Stonehaven Sheriff Court for the tenth time. My defence team argued that my trial should be delayed until after the verdicts are delivered in 2 other cases which may have a significant bearing on the interpretation of Human Rights law. An offshore worker who risked his life in a vain bid to save a driver from a blazing car was today presented with a top bravery award. Father-of-six Sylvester Cadger from Belhelvie received a Royal Humane Society testimonial to his courage - and admitted he was still amazed to be given the honour.

"I just did my best and was very surprised to be receiving any award, it was the last thing I expected," said the modest 41-year-old today. Mr Cadger, who works on the Beryl Bravo platform 180-miles off Aberdeen, was driving on the Ellon-Aberdeen road late at night last November when he spotted the car on fire on a track close to the A90.

Finding the vehicle's engine compartment ablaze, he spotted a figure slumped in the car which was smoke-filled with parts of the interior smouldering. "The car became an inferno, but I had to get the driver out of there," said Mr Cadger.

Despite suffering burns, he dragged the man clear and desperately tried to revive him.

"He was not breathing, and I tried CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) for about 20 minutes, but there was no sign of life.

"I did all I could. I'm only sorry it wasn't enough to save the poor chap." A passing nurse joined Mr Cadger in attempting to revive the man, bar manager Robert Greig, 53, but he was found to be dead when taken to hospital by ambulance.

The Humane Society accolade was handed over at a meeting of Formartine area committee today by its chairperson councillor Alison McInnes, at an Ellon ceremony attended by Grampian Police Chief Constable Andrew Brown.

In 1974, US President Richard Nixon was forced to resign from office in the wake of the Watergate affair. There was no suggestion that Nixon had any knowledge of the break-in to the office of his political opponents, but he was implicated in attempts to cover this matter up. Had Nixon simply held his hands up at an early stage and admitted that some of his subordinates had done wrong and would have to face the consequences of their actions then the Watergate affair would have been a storm in a teacup.

In the Hollie Greig case, it is important to distinguish between the allegations of abuse, which Hollie said took place between 1986 and 2000, and the failure of various arms of the state to properly deal with the allegations and to protect a vulnerable person. These failures continue to this day and include:

~ Grampian Police failing to interview alleged abusers and fellow victims named by Hollie
~ Aberdeen City Council Social Work department organising the brutal sectioning of Anne Greig
~ Shropshire Council and West Mercia Police breaking into Anne and Hollie's home
~ My arrest for Breach of the Peace by plain clothes officers of Grampian Police and the subsequent imposition of draconian bail conditions requested by the Crown Office
~ The former Lord Advocate, Elish Angiolini, writing to various newspapers warning them not to publish the story

Today, the First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, finds himself in a similar position to Richard Nixon in the 1970's. He is aware of a scandal which, although he has no direct personal involvement in it, has the potential to cause his government huge embarrassment.

Regrettably, Salmond has given no indication that he will take the only morally correct course of action and instigate a proper criminal investigation of Hollie's allegations and an enquiry into why so many arms of the state have actively sought to deny her justice.

Therefore, Salmond's own conduct and suitability for high office must be called into question and I have learned of an organisation which considers complaints against the First Minister. However my faith in the independence and integrity of this organisation took a blow when I learned today that they had appointed two former Lord Advocates as "advisers". They are Lord Fraser, whose role in the Lockerbie trial was highly controversial, and the "Dame of Shame" herself, Elish Angiolini.

Scotland Safer Than England ?

In the front page headline in yesterday's "Scotsman" newspaper, Alex Salmond claimed that Scotland was a safer place than England.

It appears to me that Scotland can only be described as "safe" if you are a paedophile as you can commit vile crimes without even being questioned by the police. Furthermore any person who attempts to bring these crimes to public attention can expect to be either forcibly sectioned or charged with breach of the peace and thrown into the cells.

I also find it highly ironic that the justice system appears to be able to spring into action to deal with those accused of offences committed in the riots in English cities. What a contrast to the years, if not decades, which it takes to bring paedophiles to justice.

I also note that David Cameron is vocal in his condemnation of the looters. Can we expect similar statements demanding tough action against paedophiles ?

As the Crown Office believes that there is a "serious risk of civil unrest" if I enter Aberdeen, I am somewhat apprehensive that I may be held responsible for the rioting in Liverpool and Manchester, as I live within 20 miles of both cities.

Just Who Is Greg Lance-Watkins ?

Greg Lance-Watkins was introduced to myself in early 2009 as a person who would be able to assist in the Hollie Greig campaign by virtue of his media contacts and his past experience in dealing with cases of child abuse and miscarriages of justice. With his cut-glass accent and talk of being educated at Cambridge and Sandhurst, he cut an impressive figure and he proved a valuable member of the team in the early days. He ran the “Stolen Kids” blog, which was an invaluable repository of information, and his contacts helped to get the story of Hollie’s compensation payment into the “News Of The World”.

From day one, Watkins was not an easy person to get along with. Highly opinionated, he adopted a belligerent attitude and often tried to cajole me into helping in his other campaigns, which generally related to opposing the EU. As he told myself and other members of the team that he was suffering from cancer, this earned him a degree of sympathy and we overlooked some of his more extreme behaviour.

When I stood in the 2010 General Election, we co-operated with UKIP and stories began to emerge about his relationship with that party. He had previously been a vocal UKIP supporter but after falling-out with them, he performed a 180 degree turn and criticised them at every opportunity, devoting a number of blogs to vitriolic abuse of prominent figures in the party. At around the same time, Anne Greig had lost faith in the “Stolen Kids” blog and, having decided that she could no longer tolerate Watkins’ obnoxious behaviour, he was effectively “sacked” from the campaign on April 30^th 2010.

In similar fashion to his volte-face with UKIP, he devoted the “Stolen Kids” blog to attacking Hollie’s campaign for justice. Rather than admit to being sacked he claimed to have suddenly realised that everything Anne and Hollie was saying was a pack of lies. From May to December 2010 Watkins’ spewed forth bile virtually on a daily basis and subjected myself and dozens of other Hollie supporters to torrents of abuse. I was various described as “a menace to the good function of society”, “a dangerous, irresponsible, criminal liar” and “a Snake Oil Salesman”.

A handful of Hollie supporters struck back at Watkins and it was not difficult to expose him for what he really was. The claims of being educated at Cambridge and Sandhurst were soon found to be false, and evidence emerged of a pattern of disturbed behaviour.

He applauds the murder of an elected politician.

One could easily dismiss Watkins as simply a deranged fantasist but there are reasons to believe that he may have sinister connections. Consider the following questions:

Why has Watkins never been arrested and charged when he has named alleged paedophiles on his blog ? This is the crux of the criminal charges against myself and the Crown Office consistently refuse to answer this question.

Following the raid on Anne and Hollie’s home in June 2010 how did Watkins come into the possession of family photographs which were removed by the police ?

How did Watkins know about certain statements which were made at my court appearance in January 2011 which were not made public ?

Suspicous Death Of Roy Greig: More Strange Developments

Roy Greig, Hollie's uncle, was found dead in a burning car, just north of Aberdeen on 17th November 1997. The police and procurator fiscal judged that there were no suspicous circumstances.

When Hollie later alleged that her uncle had witnessed an episode of abuse, Anne Greig's suspicions were aroused and she asked to be provided with a copy of her brother's post-mortem report.

After a long struggle to obtain a copy of this report, one was finally released in December 2009. Anne was shocked to read that Roy suffered injuries which did not appear to be consistent with the official cause of death, which was smoke inhalation.

When I was being interviewed by police in February 2010 I was questioned about my attempts to communicate with the pathologist who performed the post-mortem. This surprised me as it did not seem to have any connection with the offence which I was alleged to have committed. I took the opportunity to name a person I had reason to believe may have been responsible for Roy Greig's death.

No action appears to have been taken in respect of this information I provided to the police and, furthermore, when I received a transcript of the interview there was no mention of the crucial section relating to Roy's death. I have asked the Chief Constable of Grampian Police as well as senior officials of the Crown Office for an explanation but none has been forthcoming.

In my blog of May 19th, I detailed the similarities between the death of Claire Morris in 1994 and that of Roy Greig as well as some of the people who were involved in both cases. Earlier this year Claire Morris' husband, Malcolm Webster, was found guilty of her murder. Grampian Police did not regard her death as suspicous at the time.

Anne Greig recently sent a Freedom of Information request to Grampian Fire and Rescue Service in an attempt to find out more about her brother's death. The response she received, from a Peter Murray, can only be described as surreal.

Mr Murray states that he could not supply all of the information as "the deceased has a right to a private family life under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act."

He goes on to claim that "disclosure is likely to prejudice substantially, the effective conduct of public affairs ...and would likely have a significantly disruptive effect on the way in which Grampian Fire and Rescue Service conducts its business."

The Scottish Sunday Express article referred to the Facebook page of "Hollie Demands Justice", which now has over 3,000 "friends", including Sarah Brown, wife of the former Prime Minister.

The newspaper also reported on the letters sent by English MP's, Andrew George and David Ruffley, to Frank Mulholland at the Crown Office. Both were fobbed off with the same standard reply as many other supporters have received, ie that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute anyone. Mulholland neglects to mention that the reason that there is insufficient evidence is because there was no police investigation worthy of the name. Had Grampian Police shown the same zeal in investigating allegations of paedophilia as they did in initiating the sectioning of Hollie's mother or arresting myself for Breach of the Peace then perhaps they would have found some evidence.

Some people may be wondering exactly who I am and how I came to be involved in Hollie Greig's campaign for justice.

I am retired travel agent who now works part-time as a disc jockey at community and hospital radio stations near my home in Cheshire. I am divorced with two grown-up children and earlier this year I celebrated my 65th birthday. I am strictly an amateur investigator both in the sense that I have never had any form of training and also that I do not receive any payment for this work. My "career" as an investigator started by accident when I stumbled across serious corruption in the travel industry.

In 2008, I first met with Stuart Usher, who ran the organisation "Scotland Against Crooked Lawyers" which was providing assistance to Anne Greig in her attempt to secure justice for her daughter, Hollie. Stuart asked me if I would take on their case and, after meeting with the two ladies, I was so impressed by their dignity and determination and so appalled by the injustice they had suffered that I had no hesitation in agreeing to do so. It is a sad indictment of our society that myself and Hollie's ever-growing band of supporters need to take it upon ourselves to fight for justice and to generate publicity. It is clear to me that the legal system is failing in it's moral duty to protect vulnerable victims and that the primary concern of politicians is to cover-up a potential scandal. Up until yesterday, I had considered that the mainstream media were failing in their duty to report a story of massive public interest but I am confident that the article in the "Scottish Sunday Express" will be the first of many.

Although I hold views on many other subjects these are of no relevance to the Hollie Greig case, which is a single-issue campaign, and I have consistently urged supporters not to be distracted by side-issues and to simply tell as many people as possible the simple facts of the case. The facts speak for themselves and there is no need for exaggeration or speculation which could damage our credibility.

Sunday Express Article

Welcome to everyone who has discovered the Hollie Greig case via the article in today's Sunday Express. The newspaper must be congratulated for breaking the self-imposed media blackout.

Ben Borland's article could only scratch the surface of this most complex and harrowing case. Indeed, it would probably have required the Sunday Express to devote an entire edition of the paper to the story in order to do it justice.

Therefore I shall use today's blog to point out a further 5 key facts relating to the case. Please note that these are facts, as opposed to opinions or speculation.

1. The "investigation" by Grampian Police consisted of interviewing only two out of sixteen alleged paedophiles, on one occasion each. Persons named by Hollie as fellow-victims were not interviewed by the police.

2. Within a few weeks of the allegations being made, Grampian Police instigated the sectioning of Anne Greig, Hollie's mother. Anne has never had any mental health problems and shortly afterwards she obtained an independent psychiatric report which pronounced her perfectly sane.

3. I was arrested by plainclothes policemen in Aberdeen in February 2010, as I walked towards the city centre where I intended to distribute leaflets about the case. I was charged with Breach of the Peace although I have not yet stood trial. Bail conditions were imposed which banned me from entering Aberdeenshire or from using the internet and required me to sign it at my local police station three times per week. I have been awarded Legal Aid to recruit a high calibre defence team headed by the distinguished QC, Frances McMenamin.

4. In June 2010, a malcontent called Greg Lance-Watkins, informed Shropshire Social Services, that Hollie, whom he had never met in his life, was a missing person. In spite of being advised by myself that Hollie was on a short break with her mother and was perfectly well, Police and Social Services broke into Anne and Hollie's home and remained inside for several hours causing considerable damage. Shortly afterwards, family photographs which were removed during the raid, appeared on Mr Watkins' hate-filled blog which is devoted to attempting to debunk Hollie's case and to verbally abusing her supporters.

5. In December 2009, Elish Angiolini, then Lord Advocate of Scotland, arranged for a letter to be sent by lawyers Levy and MacRae threatening to sue legal magazine "The Firm" for libel in relation to their reporting of the Hollie Greig case. The Crown Office has declined to answer a Freedom of Information request asking whether the legal bills were paid by Mrs Angiolini herself, or by the taxpayer.

Kenny MacAskill And "Scottish Values"

There was yet more embarrassment for "Justice" Secretary Kenny MacAskill this week when Abdelbasat al-Megrahi, the man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing, was filmed at a rally supporting Colonel Gadaffi in Libya.

We are approaching the second anniversary of Megrahi's release from prison on "compassionate grounds" a decision which MacAskill described as upholding "Scottish values".

At that time MacAskill indicated that Megrahi had no more than three months to live. No doubt he relied on the best available medical advice and he would claim that he is relying on the best available legal and police advice to justify the failure to investigate either the abuse allegations made by Hollie Greig, or the suspicious death of Roy Greig.

The truth about the Lockerbie bombing may never be known but it is a fact that Megrahi's release on "compassionate grounds" co-incided with him dropping his appeal against his conviction. Many believe that an appeal trial would have shown that Megrahi was wrongly convicted and would have been a severe embarrassment for the Scottish justice system.

To paraphrase the "Justice" Secretary: Hollie Greig and other victims of the Scottish justice system cannot be expected to forget, let alone forgive. Their pain runs deep and the wounds remain. However, Mr MacAskill may one day face a sentence imposed by a higher power.

Letter to Colin McKerracher

On 12th February 2010, I was arrested as I was walking towards central Aberdeen where I intended to distribute leaflets about the Hollie Greig case. During the course of a taped interview with two Grampian Police detectives, I supplied them with information about an individual whom I had strong reason to believe may have been involved in the death of Roy Greig on 17th November 1997, which at the time was not regarded as suspicous.

In the intervening period, Malcolm Webster has been found guilty of murdering his wife in 1994. The circumstances of Mrs Webster's death were very similar to those of Roy Greig's and, once again, Grampian Police did not regard her death as suspicous at the time.

As I am not aware of any investigations whatsoever being made into the death of Roy Greig, I have written to Colin McKerracher, Chief Constable of Grampian Police, asking him what action he proposes to take in respect of this matter.

In the same letter, I have asked Mr McKerracher to investigate why the official transcript of my taped interview, which forms part of the evidence to be used in my Breach of the Peace trial, omits the crucial section in which I refer to the death of Roy Greig.

It is not credible that this could have been omitted by accident and I regard this apparent tampering with evidence as a gravely serious matter.

I have previously written separately to three senior officials of the Crown Office asking for an explanation of why this section of the interview was omitted from the transcript but all have failed to respond.

Press Reporting Of Paedophilia

In the aftermath of the closure of the News Of The World, it is worth remembering that they were the only newspaper to give any significant coverage of the Hollie Greig case. On April 19th 2009, James Mulholland wrote an article about the highly unusual payment of £13,500 to Hollie by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority when no-one had been charged with any crime.

It appears very strange that there has been no further coverage in any national newspaper in spite of all the additional information which has emerged since then. I know for a fact that many, many journalists are very interested in the story and it can only be a matter of time before an editor summons up the courage to publish it.

The News Of The World generally took a strong stance against paedophilia and campaigned for the introduction of "Sarah's Law" which allowed parents to know if sex offenders were living in their area.

However, some journalists appear ambivalent to child abuse and a favourite tactic is to attempt to portray anti-paedophile activists as a braying mob of hysterical lunatics. For example, on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme on Wednesday 20th July, the Guardian journalist Simon Hoggart made the following extraordinary statement.

"Hysteria ? That was what the News Of The World was all about. Do you remember their "Burn Out A Nonce" campaign ? Rebekah Wade was going to publish the names of every paedophile in the country. A lot of News Of The World readers went out and tried to burn out a paediatrician."

The alleged "Burn Out A Nonce" campaign is a product of Mr Hoggart's febrile imagination and the paediatrician/paedophile story has been wildly exaggerated by those who wish to demonise anti-paedophile campaigners. The prosaic truth is that in August 2000 there was a single incident where a doctor had the word "Paedo" daubed on her front door.

I am baffled by the blanket media coverage of the so-called "phone hacking scandal" and also by the resources which the police are deploying to investigate this matter.

How many police officers were involved in the investigation of Hollie's allegations ?

David Cameron has been drawn into the phone hacking scandal due to the fact that his recently departed Director of Communications, Andy Coulson, was formerly Editor of the News Of The World. Interestingly, Coulson's successor in Downing Street, Craig Oliver, has connections to the Hollie Greig case.

Not only is Oliver a friend and former BBC colleague of Mark Daly, who pulled the plug on a planned documentary on the case, but his father is disgraced ex-policeman Dr Ian Oliver, who was Chief Constable of Grampian Police for the majority of the period throughout which Hollie alleged she was abused.

Yet Another Trip To Stonehaven

On Wednesday 20th July I will be attending yet another Intermediate Diet at Stonehaven Sheriff Court. This will be my ninth appearance there since I was arrested and by the end of this trip I will have travelled more than 6,000 miles in total from my home in Cheshire in order to attend court hearings in the North East of Scotland. The last three hearings have lasted no more than ten minutes.

To put the travelling into perspective, 6,000 miles is than the distance from my home to Los Angeles or Beijing or Johannesburg or Rio de Janeiro.

In my brief visits to Stonehaven it appears to be a very nice town, and I must say that I have not sensed any danger of the "serious civil unrest" which the Crown claimed could be triggered by my appearance in Aberdeenshire.

Salmond Speaks Out ... But Not About Hollie Greig

First Minister Alex Salmond has called for prosecutions in a matter which has been brought to his attention even although the police investigation has barely started.

Unfortunately he is not talking about the Hollie Greig case but the News Of The World phone hacking scandal. The only similarity between the two cases appears to be that the initial police investigation in both instances was woefully inadequate.

Ian Hamilton QC Censures The Dame Of Shame

Legal elder statesman, Ian Hamilton QC, who was until recently a staunch SNP supporter, has stated that "Dame of Shame", Elish Angiolini, is not a fit person to be admitted to the Faculty of Advocates and questions whether political pressure was brought to bear to facilitate her entry.

The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum

Statements made in recent weeks by Alex Salmond and Kenny MacAskill have led many commentators to questions whether Scotland's First Minister and Justice Minister are, in fact, losing their marbles.

Not be outdone, Chief Constable Colin McKerracher has joined in the lunacy by claiming that Grampian Police is "the best force in the country". This comment was made in the context of another rant by McKerracher on his favourite subject of opposing the possible reduction in the number of police forces in Scotland, an issue over which he is at odds with MacAskill. His frequent pronouncements on this matter are in marked contrast to his continued silence on the Hollie Greig case and he would surely be better employed concentrating on catching paedophiles and other criminals rather than meddling in politics.

Let us remind ourselves of some of the "achievements" of Grampian Police.

* They failed to interview persons named by Hollie Greig as abusers and fellow-victims.

* They failed to investigate the suspicous death of Roy Greig.

* They did not treat the death of Claire Morris, who was murdered by her husband Malcolm Webster, as suspicous.

* They were implicated in the withholding of evidence in the murder trial of Nat Fraser, whose conviction has recently been quashed.
* They withheld vital medical evidence from the PCCS inquiry into the Hollie Greig case.

* They continually arrested strippogram Stuart Kennedy, who was cleared by the courts on 22 occasions, wasting £170,000 of public money.

* They instigated the sectioning of Anne Greig in 2000, following allegations that her daughter Hollie was the victim of a paedophile ring.

A survey conducted in January 2010 delivered a "shocking" verdict on Grampian Police - and this was conducted before the Hollie Greig case became widely known.

I am delighted to report that in the month of June the blog received a total of 7,368 hits - an increase of 35% on the previous highest total of 5,472 in April. This means that, on this blog alone, someone is reading about the Hollie Greig story once every six minutes

Another method of bypassing the blackout by the mainstream media is to take to the streets and provide information to the people directly. The latest video shows a selection of clips of myself and others doing just this. We receive a universally positive response when we take this action, and the overwhelming reaction of people is to ask why this matter is not being reported on television or newspapers.

Freedom Of Information

I have used this blog to communicate the facts about the Hollie Greig case, which continues to be ignored by the mainstream media. I have been greatly encouraged by the numerous supportive comments posted in the blog, but I would like to make it clear that I am perfectly willing to engage in constructive debate with anyone who may doubt the veracity of these facts or who interprets them in such a way which does not indicate a major scandal.

However to date there have been no "dissenting voices" who have posted comments and it seems that the only tactic available to those opposed to justice for Hollie is to stick their heads in the sand and refuse to answer any questions.

Thanks largely to the persistence of one individual we have succeeded in using the Freedom of Information Act to cause great embarassment and discomfort to people in positions of authority.

The First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, simply ignored awkward questions posed to him and now the Information Commissioner has set a deadline of July 11th for him to respond.

Similar pressure has been placed on the Crown Office, who refuse to say whether or not the taxpayer funded lawyer's letters to the media sent by Elish Angiolini asking them not to cover the case, and Shropshire Council, who are being extremely evasive about their role in the disgraceful raid on Anne and Hollie's home.

The current impasse closely resembles that involving the anti-hero Chichikov in Gogol's "Dead Souls". Chichikov was a con-man whose frauds became so widespread that he could not be found guilty without implicating some of the most powerful people in the realm.

Alex Salmond & Greg Lance-Watkins - Do They Share A Common Purpose ?

On Wednesday 26th January, I appeared at Stonehaven Sheriff Court where my solicitor Gerry Sweeney appealed for a relaxation of my bail conditions. Mr Sweeney drew an analogy between my actions and those of someone opposing the Nazis in Germany in the 1930's.

The following day, Aberdeen's local newspaper, the "Press and Journal" reported extensively on the case.

Later that day, I was very surprised to learn that the blog of Greg Lance-Watkins, a person who promotes the notion that the Hollie Greig case is a fantasy, made a reference to Mr Sweeney's Nazi analogy. This was not referred to in any newspaper coverage of the case nor was it mentioned in any of the material which my supporters published on the internet.

Therefore I could not understand how Lance-Watkins could have been given this information as there were no more than 15 people in the courtroom and there was no transcript made of proceedings. The only possible sources that I could think of were either the Crown Office or the local newspaper group Aberdeen Journals, whose reporter was in the courtroom.

I have just learnt that on Friday 28th January, First Minister Alex Salmond had a meeting with Damian Bates, at that time Editor of the Evening Express who had recently been appointed as the new editor of the Press & Journal.

Given that Salmond's other engagements that day were with Outplay Entertainment, a business from Dundee, and STV , to record a clip about Andy Murray, why would he meet a newspaper editor from Aberdeen ?

Could the meeting between Salmond and Bates possibly be linked to the leaking of information to Lance-Watkins ? We know that Salmond and Lance-Watkins, for their individual reasons, both want the Hollie Greig story to either be discredited or to disappear.

Another alternative is that Salmond and Bates were discussing media coverage of my case and the Hollie Greig story in general. It is worth noting that, since then, there has been no coverage whatsoever of the Hollie Greig story by Aberdeen Journals and also, that Gary Cruden, who had reported on my court appearances is no longer employed by the organisation.

It may or may not be relevant that Bates is a member of the Aberdeen Advisory Group of Common Purpose, an organisation with links to many of the key players in the Hollie Greig case including Elish Angiolini, Colin McKerracher and Kim Ryley.

Support Continues To Grow - Please Spread The Word

One of the benefits of this blog is that it enables me to gauge the level of interest in and support for Hollie's case. I am pleased to report that we have exceeded 31,000 hits in the blog in a little over 6 months and that, even with nine days to go, June is already the busiest month to date.

Support continues to come in from all quarters. I appeared on an Irish radio show last night and tonight I am appearing on an American radio show. It is most heartening that the power of the internet enables Hollie's story to be heard when the mainstream media, for whatever reason, do not report it.

It is significant that those who attempt to deny justice for Hollie do not offer any counter-arguments but simply ignore us, presumably in the hope that we will simply disappear. They must surely realise that Hollie's Peaceful Army is not going to disappear and that the day of reckoning can only be delayed, never cancelled. Attempts have been made in the past to derail the campaign but they have been repelled.

However, it is important that, rather than resting on our laurels, we build from our position of strength. Therefore, I would ask that everyone reading this blog makes the effort to tell Hollie's story to 10 people who have not heard it before.

Scotland's new Lord Advocate, Frank Mulholland, has taken time out from sticking his head in the sand over the Hollie Greig case to issue a ridiculous statement in respect of the Lockerbie bombing.

Why is he pushing the view that Colonel Gadaffi could be brought to trial in Scotland when the view of all independent commentators, including Dr Jim Swire whose daughter died on PanAm 103, is that the case that the bombing was ordered by Libya is extremely weak ?

This is the same Frank Mulholland who, as Solicitor General, stonewalled numerous enquiries from the public relating to Hollie Greig's allegations with the standard response:

"Historical allegations of sexual abuse made by Hollie Greig have been investigated by Grampian Police and the local Procurator Fiscal. All the available evidence was reported to Crown Office for the consideration of independent Crown Counsel. Very careful consideration was given to the material by Crown Counsel who concluded that there was insufficient, admissible, credible and reliable evidence in respect of these allegations."

Can we assume that Mr Mulholland will now start agitating for further investigations into the allegations made by Hollie and for the perpetrators to be brought to justice ?

Dame Elish Angiolini

I was very surprised to learn that former Lord Advocate of Scotland, Elish Angiolini, has been made a Dame in the Queen's birthday honour's list.

During Mrs Angiolini's time as Scotland's chief prosecutor, no action was taken in respect of the allegations made by Hollie Greig that she was the victim of a paedophile rape gang. She has also been heavily criticised for her role in other cases.

A decision is awaited from the Information Commisioner as to whether the Crown Office should release details of whether she or the taxpayer funded a series of legal actions against the media in connection with the Hollie Greig case.

Stuart Usher

Earlier this week, I was able to meet up with my friend, Stuart Usher, who first introduced me to the Hollie Greig case in 2008. Stuart has spent many years fighting corruption in the Scottish legal system and has exposed dozens of "crooked lawyers". He has been a source of great support to Anne and Hollie and, in the early days, he was single-handedly campaigning on their behalf.

The abject failure of Scottish "Justice" Secretary, Kenny MacAskill, to intervene in the Hollie Greig case would surely have forced his resignation were it not for the virtual black-out of reporting in the mainstream media.

The Net Closes In On Salmond And The Scottish Government

In my blog on May 9th I congratulated Alex Salmond and the SNP on their resounding election victory. I sincerely hoped that they would take the opportunity to clean up the Scottish justice system and to launch a full public enquiry into the Hollie Greig case. Around the same time I wrote to Mr Salmond offering to co-operate with such an enquiry and expressing my wish to let bygones be bygones.

Mr Salmond's failure to even acknowledge my letter, together with the extraordinary comments both he and Kenny MacAskill have made regarding the UK Supreme Court , lead me to believe that the SNP Government have no interest whatsoever in "Justice" as most right-minded people would understand it.

Even more seriously, the Information Commissioner has now had to intervene in order to force Salmond and the Scottish Government to reply to correspondence on the Hollie Greig case which they have, to date, simply ignored.

The highly respected independent law journal "The Firm" has supported Hollie's quest for justice since 2009 and I would commend it's editor Steven Raeburn for his courage in speaking out when other journalists have failed to do so.

This week they reported on the steps taken by Andrew George MP, a Liberal Democrat from Cornwall, to press for a "thorough review" of the Hollie Greig case. This was prompted by correspondence from a constituent that I was unaware of. This demonstrates that, in spite of the failure of the mainstream media to report on the Hollie Greig case, the level of outrage is such that the story is not going to simply disappear.

Rally Against Child Abuse

This Saturday, 4th June, I have been invited to speak at the Rally Against Child Abuse in Trafalgar Square. The event last year was very well supported and it is absolutely clear that Hollie`s case, horrific though it is, is just one of many. Although I can only speak with authority on the Hollie Greig issue, it is overwhelmingly obvious that influential individuals operating within public authorities throughout Britain are programmed to conceal paedophile crime in as ruthless a manner as possible.

I am deeply concerned to learn that one of my fellow speakers, Kevin Annett from Canada, will be unable to attend as he has been arrested, deported and banned from re-entering the UK.

I am very pleased with recent progress in Hollie`s case and the fact that good people from various political parties all across the UK, are beginning to come forward publicly in support of our campaign for an independent, open and public inquiry into the various unsatisfactory issues related to Hollie`s case, including the forcible kidnapping and assault on Anne Greig and the possibility of the murder of key witness Robert Greig, the latter issue thrown even more starkly into focus by its undoubted personal and circumstantial connections with the murder of Mrs Claire Webster.

The Great Satan

Regrettably, Scottish "Justice" Minister, Kenny MacAskill, seems to be sticking his head ever deeper in the sand as he continues to wilfully ignore the failings of the Scottish criminal justice system.

Commenting on the quashing of Nat Fraser's conviction he said: "It has always been the position of the Scottish Government that the High Court of Justiciary should be the final court of appeal for conviction matters in Scotland. I regret that once again the sovereignty of the Scottish courts appears to be challenged."

It is contemptible that MacAskill seeks to deflect attention from institutional corruption in the Scottish legal system by attempting to portray this as a turf war between Scotland and England.

Unfortunately, I cannot report any progress being made towards a public enquiry into the Hollie Greig case. Instead MacAskill is focusing on rushing in legislation to impose stiff penalties on those who incite violence at football matches. I wonder whether these laws will be applied retrospectively, and, if so, whether any action will be taken against a man who publicly referred to the English international team as "the great Satan". That man was .... Kenny MacAskill.

MacAskill clearly has some expertise on these matters having been arrested at Wembley in 1999 on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. He dismissed the matter as "a simple misunderstanding". Is this incident at the root of his antipathy towards the criminal justice system in London ?

The Scottish Justice System Is Unfit For Purpose

The title of this blog is a quote from justice campaigner Iain McKie, a former police superintendent. He is calling for a Royal commission into the Scottish Justice System as a result of the numerous miscarriages of justices which are now coming to light. Mr McKie is the father of Shirley McKie, a policewoman who was wrongly charged with perjury, and is a prominent campaigner for a full enquiry into the Lockerbie bombing.

The latest blow to the credibility of the Scottish criminal justice system is the successful appeal of Nat Fraser against his conviction for the murder of his wife, Arlene, in 1998. Mr Fraser has been imprisoned for 8 years as a result of evidence being tampered with and the prosecution failing to disclose all evidence to the court. Followers of the Hollie Greig case will not be surprised to learn that it was Grampian Police who investigated the alleged murder of Arlene Fraser, whose body has never been found.

Freedom Of Speech

Why is it that the mainstream media are so fascinated by allegations of an affair between a footballer and a reality TV star yet they have nothing to say about allegations that a Downs Syndrome girl was raped by a paedophile gang who are not being pursued by the Scottish criminal justice system ?

I do not believe that anything resembling a "super-injunction" exists in relation to the Hollie Greig case, therefore it is the decision of individual TV stations and newspapers not to run the story. The former Lord Advocate, Elish Angiolini, did, of course, write to various media organisations warning them not to run the story but I am not aware of any order being issued by any court to this effect.

I have an interdict (Scottish term for injunction) against myself which restricts my freedom of speech. The bail conditions for my criminal trial preclude me from revealing any further details of this matter.

Vote Of No Confidence In Grampian Police

Following the conviction of Malcolm Webster, Grampian Police has been subjected to severe media criticism.

An article in "The Times" by Mike Wade contained the following section:

After his 19-week trial, critics expressed incredulity at the conduct of the first police investigation into the crash. They are also baffled by the force's failure five years later to act on information from police in New Zealand.

"Grampian was full of shambolic police investigations in the 1990's" said a police source "the initial enquiry was not good, Webster was never suspected."

Peter Morris, Claire's brother, said that during the trial he had been approached by Chief Inspector Ian Wallace, who was a constable at the time of the murder, and had suspected Webster since 1994.

"He had suspicions at the time... he saw the peculiarities in what had happened. He and another officer went to their seniors to try and make further inquiries, but their efforts were quashed."

An editorial in the "Sunday Mail" states:

You would not need to be Miss Marple to smell a rat. Luckily for Webster there were few Marples at Grampian Police .... it seems clear that the death of Claire Webster in 1994 was far too quickly written off as an accident.

Inexperience, bad decisions, Webster's dramatic talents and - most probably - a disinclination to open what would have been a can of worms meant Grampian simply closed the file, shut the drawer and locked the cabinet.

It was not, of course, the only inquiry botched by the force in the 1990's when the notorious murders of nine-year-old Scott Simpson and Arlene Fraser also took far, far too long to be solved.

Even when the Scots police were contacted by their counterparts in New Zealand after Webster's attempted murder of his second wife, they refused to act.

This damning criticism of Grampian Police in the 1990's, puts into context their failure to investigate either the sexual abuse allegations made by Hollie Greig or the suspicous death of her uncle, Roy Greig. The mainstream media have not yet reported on these matters but surely it can only be a matter of time before this happens.

Frank Mulholland has been promoted from Solicitor General to Lord Advocate following the departure of Elish Angiolini.

It would be fair to say that Mr Mulholland's appointment has not been universally acclaimed by other campaigners against injustice in Scotland. However I believe in giving Mr Mulholland the opportunity to demonstrate that, in his new role, he will take the steps required to restore public confidence in the Scottish criminal justice system. It goes without saying that it is imperative that he orders a full public enquiry into the Hollie Greig case, particularly in the light of the revelations in the Malcolm Webster murder trial.

Will Grampian Police Now Investigate The Death Of Roy Greig ?

Following the conviction of Malcolm Webster for the murder of his wife Claire Morris will Grampian Police now investigate the suspicous death of Hollie's uncle, Roy Greig.

Roy was found dead in a burning parked car just north of Aberdeen in 1997. The official report at that time indicated there were no suspicous circumstances although Roy's family and friends were shocked at the notion that he could have committed to suicide. When Hollie later began to reveal details of the abuse she had suffered she alleged that Roy had witnessed her being raped and the time of this episode was narrowed down to around the time of Roy's death. Therefore there is a possible motive for murdering Roy in order to silence him.

Anne Greig fought long and hard to see her brother's post-mortem report and she eventually received a copy in 2009 - more than 12 years after his death. She was shocked to discover that at the time of his death he was suffering from injuries to his skull, ribs and sternum. These are not consistent with the official cause of death, smoke inhalation, and suggest that Roy may have been assaulted shortly before his death.

Malcolm Webster murdered his first wife Claire Morris in 1994. She was found dead in a burning car just a few miles from the scene of Roy Greig's death. At the time her death was not thought to be suspicous and it was only after Webster's second wife was involved in a similar "accident" that a murder enquiry was launched.

The pathologist who performed the post-mortem on Claire Morris was Dr XXXXX XXXXXX who also carried out the post-mortem on Roy Greig. My bail conditions prohibit me from contacting Dr XXXXXX. It is also worth noting that at least one policeman expressed concerns about Claire Morris's death but was instructed to "move on and tell my colleagues to do so as well".

Situation Vacant: Lord Advocate

I am intrigued that the position of Lord Advocate of Scotland remains vacant following the departure of Elish Angiolini. Given that Mrs Angiolini announced her resignation seven months ago, one would have thought that this would have allowed more than sufficient time to recruit her successor.

My only hope is that the Scottish government is taking it's time in order to ensure that the new Lord Advocate is a person with the integrity and moral courage to lead a full public enquiry into the Hollie Greig case as well as some of the other high-profile miscarriages of justice, which are at least reported in the mainstream media.

Far more eminent figures than myself, including QC's Robert Black and Ian Hamilton, have been highly critical of Mrs Angiolini and once again I call upon Alex Salmond to take the necessary steps to restore public confidence in the Scottish justice system.

Trial Delayed Until September

At my intermediate diet in Stonehaven this morning the Crown argued that my trial should commence in June, ie the date set at the hearing in January. My solicitor, Gerry Sweeney, counter-argued that the trial date should be put back by several months to give my legal team sufficient time to wade through the prosecution evidence and to prepare my defence. Sheriff Hammond agreed with Mr Sweeney and the trial is now due to commence on September 5th.

Another Court Appearance
